Help please

I've got one dealership that is willing to order me a SRT8 @ MSRP. They say that they have allocation for 12 and 9 have been sold. He sent me over the sheet showing order status (BX) and it has no vin number and the von number has been removed from the page.

They are willing to make the order for me but want a $5000 non refundable deposit. They have also stated that their may be a price increase on the car from Chrysler but they are not sure. He's hinted that if their is a price increase it might be 400 to 900 dollars but he does not know for sure. If their is a price increase they will have to charge me for it but I don't feel comfortable sending $5000 to them without knowing exactly what I'll be paying for the car.

What do you guys think?

No way

First of all, asking for $5000 deposit is just plain bullcrap. The average dealer is asking for $500-$1000. So, my gut tells me that he should not be trusted.

Secondly, I too had to order the car not knowing what the exact MSRP. Not the smartest thing I've done, but many of us are in the same boat that want to get one on order. They told me that I will be getting a 2006, but the pricing is not out yet and it could possibly change. Judgement call!! I had them sign the purchase agreement indicating that they are selling me the vehicle at MSRP.

Ditto.

The thing that really would scare me is the fact that it's only in BX status. That means nothing with regard to their advertised allocation. If he doesn't 'really' have allocation, you'll sit in BX forever.

Good luck. Hope it works out.

Thanks all for your input.

My offer still stands:
Anyone that can find me a fulley loaded silver SRT8 @ msrp will get a $500 finders fee.

I'm looking for opt. groups 1 & 2
Kicker sound system
Sunroof

I'll take a black car if one is available but silver is preferred. Financing is in order and I'm ready to buy today.

That is awful!! I don't don't how U.S. dealers get away with what they do. Average Deposit is $500-$1000 most of the time if its a hot car we don't take one because the car will sell anyway.

kicker system is on hold right now.

If you were canada i could.
