Question blacked out grill on black SRT8?

I have heard a couple of people mention about going with a blacked out (painted or even black chrome) factory grill on their black SRT8s (which sounds interesting to me). I was wondering if it wouldn't make the front of the car appear too dark. Anybody have a photoshop of what this might look like?

Thanks,
Jim

Making the car look "dark" is the point. 35% and lower tinted windows. Black rims with chrome lips. Black-out taillamps. That would be one mean looking SRT-8!

ALL BLACK is the hottest look I have had on cars. I had a blk on blk on blk 1967 Caddy eldorado that got more attention than a rolls. It is eyecatching mysterious, a bit of a bully. It has an Undercover/espionage/secret service look. Plus on a practicle side it makes it very hard for Laser Cops to nab you. Put the headlight covers on and good luck to them. Of coarse even with the Tinting the car will be hotter in the summer than a Swedish Bikini Model.

Cool

If your going to go with a sinister tough look, why stop with just the windows, the grill would be awesome, however I'm not a paint guy and I don't know how about going to paint this grill either black chrome or just black?!! If anyone knows please inform me,about doing this!! I really do believe it would look better this way,for the srt-8 version was made to be tough, fast and a get out of my way look to it!! Its too bad Chrysler didn't follow through with their original plan of stating it comes with a colored coded grill for the srt-8,especially the black!!!!But then again it seems they are also dropping the ball on kicker speakers, order times and dates, offical pricing on '06,etc.,etc.!! I'm just surprised that the public is not informed better on all fronts!!! OH WELL,WHERE'S MY '06!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bet it would look pretty intimidating to see an all black/blacked out grill SRT8 approach fast in your rearview mirror. Now who can do the photoshop of one?

The 06' painted grill should be available to order. If there is going to be a painted grill option, I'd just order a replace an not try to have your grill painted. That way you could swap them out and still have the original if you ever decide to sell the car.

color matched grille

I have a C and have been wanting to do this from the start. The only problem I have is to 'black-out' the stock or the E&G.

Here's a pic of a test model from early last year.

This will give a general idea but I still like the aggressive look.

That's funny that this post popped up. I just made some inserts and that person requested that I blacked out his with the same paint color plus a bunch of gloss coats. I would like to see what the front grill would look like all blacked out as well.
