Track Times and Conditions!

Iv'e been searching for bout an hour now looking for a thread for just track times for the srt8's, NO LUCK,, SSooooo let this be the place!!
I just ran last night, for the first time with this car!! god it was awesome!!
My best run was 12.910 @108.59,, We are at sea level and it was a nice 70 degrees out with i would say 75% humidity nice for new orleans area!
so all the mods i have listed plus the diablo tune pulled...

R/t.... .127
60... 1.975
1/4... 12.910
mph... 108.59

Not bad but i thought i would be at least in the 12.6 area,, I figure i do have the fully loaded 300 maybe thats why,,plus my 215 pounds cant be helping,
So lets see some other times on here!!!!!
As soon as i can figure out how to scan the track slip on here i will,,

12.827 @ 111.62 mph, 1.961 60' with stock wheels and tires.

Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park in Norwalk, OH

731 feet abvove sea level

Temperature was 57 degrees and humidity was very low.

Mods are listed in signature.

I think that you will see 12.6 with a little cooler temperatures and less humidity.

Thumbs up

Great idea! I just made this thread an "Official Sticky"

this means your thread is stuck to the top of the SRT8 forum when you entere that forum. We only allow a few stickies so that all members will be able to see them when they enter the SRT8 forum.

10-4, Hardder Performance! And good thread. Here is the information I sent to HP that might help some others out. And, if you have more insight as I only put a few instances, please chime in.

Quote:
From Moose: Corrected is the ALL important adjustment to a run depending on the air and altitude or, DA. DA stands for Density and Altitude. The higher the altitude the worse your run will be. Density will also effect your run.

Here is a good example. If you run at 12.90 there in LA you will not run that same time here in AZ. Why? Because you are right at or below sea level where the air is plenty! The more air the more power.

The heat will also play a HUGE part in the whole outcome. The cooler the better. So your car will always make much more power when its cooler out.

The best set up is, cool air and sea level or better. The worst set up is hot air and high altitude. That's why you will see me preach here about DA and how one guy in say NJ can't blanket his time for everyone.

My corrected time means, if I ran in perfect conditions, i.e. seal level and cool temps I would have ran a 11.99. But because I was fighting a DA of over 3500 I was only able to pull off a 12.46. Kind of like fighting an up hill battle.

Here is the drag race board DA converter for all runs. What you would do is go to your local weather site and get the information then plug them into the converter.

here it is and hope that helps!!

I got my best runs the other night at the track here is some video's and the temps were in the low 60's upper 50's . My mods are Mopar CAI 180 tsat .25 cent fan mod B&G stage 2 and a pro torque converter but i had to leave at 1500 rpms or the car would spin.

Thanks for the calculator Moose. My corrected times for this run are:

12.78 @ 112.04

I looked up the actual weather specifics for that day (Oct. 15):

Altitude: 731
Temp: 54
Humidity: 59
Pressure: 30.21

Try to remember, just because its the ''corrected'' time doesn't mean you ''would have'' achieved it. Who knows, you might not have hooked up if the conditions were a little better. Things like that.

But when you see someone in a great DA area posting un-believable times one has to remember not to blanket those times for the whole population. They are going 'down hill' where some of us are going 'up hill'.
