FYI, for those with '06s in D status.
I just found out my (former) dealerships '06 SRT8 is now in D1, with a ship date of 4-11. I would imagine that most '06s in D will start to go D1 soon, so check your dealer or Chrysler (thats you, Johnny).
This car has opt1, opt2, roof and gas guzzler tax, MSRP is $45,950. I would imagine this represents tentative '06 pricing, which still has not been released.

For anyone who wants an SRT8 for OVER STICKER in northern california, PM me. If you want to pay sticker, you're about 10th in line, get one in Nebraska.

Hey rt4-My dealer told me yesterday,that they received an internal memo,from DCX that the kicker system has been cancelled,and they had to drop this option from my car order,or car would not be built!! That really sucks!!! Do you have any info I can give them,or is it to late?!!

RT4 thanks for the scoop and the shout out......as you know this is good news, but still leads me to wonder what stereo will be in my SRT 8, especially if you are now telling us that many D's are going to D1 status. This makes sense especially because these are the 05 switch overs. I am also hoping that the 06 has the tire pressure monitoring system as well as the power folding mirrors............If you could find out definitively what the stereo situation will be for people in D or D1 status....let us know. Thanks for all that you do to help us deal with all this..............

I also have the Kicker option coming for my 06' Silver SRT-8. Do I need to contact the dealer and make them exchange it for hte DVD system?

stang: according to Chrysler, some early SRT8s had the Kicker option cancelled in order for production to begin. What this means to me is that they're building 75 in april, but had only 50 orders w/o the upgrade in D status, so they had to cancel 25 kicker orders, so they could build 75 cars. (I just made up these numbers in my head.)
Also according to chrysler, production of the kicker system will begin in May. You can't order kickers right now, probably b/c they're not sure about the long term of the stereo options, once they figure it out, I would imagine they'll put kicker, or the 388 BA stereo on the ordering system.
XC...the DVD system will also start production in May. I would recommend ordering what you want. If you're not in D status, add the DVD to your order, keep the kicker option, and get a fully loaded car. If you are in D status, then the stereo thing is out of your (and your dealer's) hands.
Johnny....here is my prediction: if your car goes D1 in for April production, you get no kicker, if your car goes D1 for May production, you get the kicker system. It would be very hard to delay your car going into D1.... probably impossible. You might just have to *GASP* wait and see!
