SRT-8 v. SRT-8???

Okay, I think I'm going to get flamed for saying this but here goes....

I'm sure we've all seen the charger SRT-8 pictures posted earlier this week, so...

I really love the looks of the 300(s) but in particular I like the look of the charger srt-8 over the 300 srt-8..

A few reasons....
1) I know some like the 'sleeper' look of the 300 but the charger just looks like it was meant to be driven(hard) more muscular look

2) hood scoop...I just like the look

3) black and inferno red!!

thoughts??

Not going to get flamed. The SRT-8 was a compromise. My wife said, don't even think about that ugly charger. I said ok. Now were both happy. Cecil....

Well, you pose an interesting question. If I was in the market to buy a 4 door sports coupe as opposed to a 4 door sedan, I might consider the SRT Charger. I think they represent different buying market demographics. I wanted a vehicle that I could pick up a potential client in, take the kids to Karate classes, go on long drives comfortably and feel like I had a luxury car with a whole bunch of get-up-and-go power available. I think the Charger is interesting, but I'd rather wait for a 2 door convertible model of the 300 chassis. I honestly don't think one is too far off on the horizon. The 300's gained too much market share for DCX to not diversify and they will, believe me. And when they do, I'll be one of the first in line to order one.

If you want a sporty race car, wait for the 06' Mustang Cobra. THAT will be a street eater.

PS ...I love the Inferno Red color. Every other car I own is red.

Two totally different target markets. When the 300C SRT-8 was launched they even said they would have made the interior sportier if it were a Dodge. Ta-daaa!! Here's your Dodge.

The Charger SRT-8 is for going to the drive-in diner. The 300 SRT-8 is for going to the show. Dodge - put the kids in the back. Chrysler - take another couple out to a nice dinner.

Tie ball-game. They both have love it or hate it looks. I personally give the 300 a 9 out of 10, and the Charger an 8 out of 10, but I can certainly see why others would reverse that.

What concerns me if that Chrysler may be watering down the SRT concept too much. Do we really need a 300C AND a Charger AND a Magnum AND a Jeep - all with SRT-8 versions? In total I think the SRT-8 may lose some of its mystique.

Agreed, totally different market. I would much rather have the Shelby SVT coming soon with "well over 450hp", rather than the Charger. But, I have two kids and getting two carseats, strollers, a wife, and groceries just won't happen in the stang. So, SRT8 300 it is!!

Thats why there is Law and Order, criminal intent,SVU,Trial &Jury. CSI: Miami ,vegas, New York. Strike while the iron is hot. It alway has been and always will be about shareholders making a profit. Just be glad they stumbled on to the SRT-8 concept in the first place. I like them both about the same. if the charger SRT-8 came out first I would have probably signed up for that . I prefer the 300c's classier style. But I like being the 1st on the block. ...Long live the jones'.

What drives me nuts is that each car has different options available. I personally prefer the Magnum (no place for my rottweiller in the 300) but the magnum has no HID, no memory seats, plainer (cheaper) interior, etc. Although I understand that the market is different, I really wish you could get the same options on all 3 cars.
I really like the fact that they're expanding the SRT lineup. They are all great cars (well, maybe not the SRT6), and I hope they're all as successful as the SRT8 has been so far. The more confidence and success they have with the SRT lineup, the more evidence that another muscle car era is upon us, and DC is leading the way.

rt4, thanks for the info, I like the looks of the Magnum. The available space would be nice, and still haul butt. My wife says, 'we don't need a station wagon.' I just figured that the first time that she can't get everything she wants to into the trunk, I would say well, if we had a Magnum....
I didn't look at the option list on the Magnum, & didn't know that I couldn't get some of those things. Thanks for sharing that. I ordered every option available, and no HID lights on the Magnum? I guess that we made the right choice.

Arrow Itz the little things...

Yeah, DCX plays alot of games with options/models as part of its marketing strategery. The whole reason the 300C interior is very nice & striking, yet somehow a bit lacking - is so that it can't be "compared" to a "real" E-Class.
Why, oh why didn't they keep the chrome trim rings on the steering wheels & door pulls - like on the concept car?.
