The SRT8's have the same transmission (maybe some internal upgrades) as the 300C and yes they are subject to the common electrical connector o-ring leak in the transmission. I don't know if you are still under warranty; if not you could just go to a transmission shop, but in reality your car would probably be more likely to be taken for a 'joy ride' at a place like that; after all they probably don't get SRT8's in there every day, but it's nothing special to the dealership.

Besides, the repair should take less than an hour so you don't even need to leave your car. Tell the service writer up front that you don't want anyone driving your car except to pull it in and out of the shop; there's no need for a test drive on this particular repair. Then make note of the exact mileage when you turn over your keys if you are worried about it. When I left my 300C at the dealership, I insisted the service writer walk around the car with me and make a note on the work order that there were NO door dings or scratches of any kind, and only one tiny rock chip on the front, before I left my car. He kind of rolled his eyes, but I pointed out to him that this protected HIM as much as me. Guess what, I got my car back with no miles put on it, no dings, NO greasy fingerprints anywhere, and the leak fixed!

Jeez...Relax a little bit man. I've had the issue twice. It's no big deal.

Seriously if you fear the dealership taking joy rides when you're in for service you should sell your car and buy a carolla. I think you're being very paranoid.

FWIW the O-Ring fix takes about an hour of your time. You can wait for them to do it. Inconvenient? Yes....End-of-the-World? NO!

Good luck.
