I am over 5000. I have no factual data to prove it, but it definitely feels faster.

Any chance of you getting your SRT8 to a track for a few runs?

Any properly broken-in engine (well, even improperly as long as you don't redline it when cold and warp the heads or something...but more so if properly) will run faster and get better fuel economy than the same engine when new. This does take a little longer than just the actual break-in period though. Not to say you have continue with break-in practices after break-in period, just that even after break-in everything is still kidna seating out and stuff...

Speaking of which, it seems like mopar does a lot of stuff that they don't tell you about up front (i.e. those who know know, and those who don't know, and don't know to ask, will never find out). Will they break-in your engine at the factory if you ask them to? It seems like the kinda thing mopar guys might do (i.e. break it in on a machine that breaks it in perfectly to get optimum performance).

Both...I am a "feel" driver (hence my love for both this car, and BMW 7). I got the feel down of pulling out of my street onto main drag without squeeling the tires.....only to have tham start squeeling again recently because it jumps quicker now. Also, when I am on the freeway doing 70-75, and punch it just a little to pass etc... I am now surprised by the acceleration compared to what I thought was "being used to it."

Lastly, yesterday, I stopped on a main two way (nobody around in either direction, brake torqued to about 1200 rpm, and let her rip to try a 0-60 (which is stupid if you can't time it, but I could not resist). For whatever reason, the tires hooked better than ever before and the launch was mind boggling. Wish I could have timed it......

Car and Driver recently tested all those things that let you time the car yourself. Pretty accurate. I have a Passport G-timer GT1 myself. It's neat and accurate, but I may be selling it in favor of the much more expensive g-tech pro product, depends if I start tracking my car or not.

I got mine from radarbusters.com for $100. The price ranges from like $70 to $1000 depending on which one you get. I would take a look at the Car and Driver test here
http://www.caranddriver.com/article....rticle_id=9380

In retrospect, I would get the g-tech pro ss or rr (depending on if you track your car or not) over the passport, even though it costs an extra $100. The third gyro, while it really doesn't do anything for accuracy (and you can see in the car and driver test these things are so accurate when calibrated that really doesn't matter), makes calibrating the unit much easier and much more accurate. I also think the rpm meter and all the additional functionality that comes with that would have made the g-tech a better product to get. The G-tech (gtechpro.com) SS is $200 and the RR is $300.
