This one has been around for a while. It's fun to see the driftin' 300CSRT but every body knows that for Jeremy Clarkson, the sun shines out BMW's ass and all non-European designs are "rubbish". So consider it entertainment only.

All the Bangle-era Beemers are ugly IMO. The mighty M5 is a bad sedan, but is only a tick faster than us unless modded. And the wildest part is the manual trans are even slower!

This video actually got me to buy the SRT 8! It's not even a fair comparison as "Pimp Mobile" mentioned those sticker for close to $100K brand new. I love Top Gear and I was actually flattered that they compared the two cars!

Also, I work in a small office with about 14 guys and one of them has an M5 (brand new in 06') He pays $1500 a month to lease the car and the have had to replace the drive train, SMG and clutch! The last time it was in the shop they had it for a month and had to pay his lease payment! Not to mention they made him drive a 325 for 35 days LOL

It's a bad ass car and corners like its on rails but there is no comparison in my mind as there is a ton more value in our cars!

Also, we are a lot harder to launch. M5s and M3s typically have a more advanced launch control and can get moving quicker. Even stock for stock if the cars went from like a 30 roll it would be much closer.

also keep in mind this wasnt Top Gear, this was a Clarkson video called The Good, the Bad, and The Ugly, so they are just a bit different than top gear. there is no one to keep him in check. At one point on TG, Hammond actually calls our cars "brilliant" when Clarkson complains about the Challenger SRT8.

still a good video, but that comparison of course was ludicrous and was set up to make the m5 win.

i like the m5 and m3, even the 335 and 135.

but i hellhammered an m5 off the line a while back.

he of course caught up with me but i had slowed down due to the road being curvy.
i was curious as to how long it would have taken him to pass me if we had been in a straight line and i stayed on it.

i know he would have beat me but just would have been nice to know how i would have done.
