SRT-8 Overheating?

Just finished e-talking with my salesman on the holdup for the build on my car. He said there is a problem with all the engines in the SRT-8's in regards to overheating. They are trying to resolve this problem and that is the reason they are so slow going into production. Anyone else hear of this?

Sounds like sales guy bull to me. They quite often make **** up to cover for complete ignorance. One SRT-4 buyer was told (by a salesguy who had only blue and red) that there were issues with SRT-4s and silver paint, so don't get one of those

Think this through, if ALL of the motors were overheating, might not our local SRT-8 owners have mentioned it? I know a salesguy told me he expected info on the Charger around July, never mind the fact that the car gets sent to dealers this month.

Ignore salesguy babble.

Being that I drove mine 24 hours straight, the last 6 being in heavey traffic and 80 plus degrees, and the needle never moved past 204 (middle), I am not buyin it.

My sales guy left message on my phone last night saying the only thing holding up the car at this point is the Kicker system---once that's settled-car is a go. I'm inclined to support the sales bull perspective.

Well, mine overheated just yesterday and darn neared boiled all the coolant out. Called the dealer and he said I was not the first one to see this and a recall is coming soon, which will require removing the radiator and some piping to replace it with a larger capacity system. Good news is while at the dealer, they will install the kicker system at no charge.

not. I must be bored.

What part of PA are you in? Who is your dealer? Kicker is no longer an issue. I did here from a credible source that there was an issue at the plant, a small one that they had to correct. Don't know what it was, but I am sure it was nothing too crazy.

No problem here.

It will run above the mid-point during typical LA traffic but never anywhere near the red. Sounds like the dealer is trying to buy some time.

What a load of hooey. Let me guess - you're in "bx" status? You, my friend, are being strung along.
