plastic covered with a fake wood sticker is cheesy, but i believe cadillacs use actual wood. (could be wrong nowadays)
I just hope they addressed the details like radio buttons that flaked off color over time!
Sorry, but I can't see any heritage in the CTS design. It's been butt ugly to me since it was first revealed.
But any motorhead has to love the "V"!
And Norm, how can you reasonably (key word) expect upgraded trim when you bought a base model? That's just a wacky expectation IMO, but of course you get to vote with your bucks just like the rest of us.

Yeah, i noticed every V i got into, the buttons beside the navi screen were half white from flaking off. That alone makes the interior look super cheap and tacky compared to the SRT.

UPGRADED TRIM?????
The strips were a total of $25 and the interior parts shouldn't have been more than $50 ~ $100
IT COST OVER $30,000 - you telling me $100 worth of FAKE PLASTIC is too much to put in a $30,000+ car?
THAT'S WHY THIS COMPANY IS GETTING ITS ASS KICKED NOW.
Its still one of the differences between the base model and the other higher level models they offer. If you wanted the trim and some of the other goodies, why didnt you get one of the more expensive models or just accept the fact that you would have some minor changes to make to yours to get it to what you want...
Not being rude man... just dont see your logic here. There is a difference in quality (options, trim, etc) which is reflected in the price....
this is what i'm thinkin:
the first V was crap.
that doesnt instill much confidence in me with this next V. even though it is completely different, cuz it needed to be.
it looks good, sounds good, the numbers are good, the price is good.
this kind of car needs a couple years of abuse from new owners before we really know how good of a car GM made.
my lease is up at the end of 2010, so there is a good 2 years of bugs they can fix.
i am lookin at the C63, CTS-V, M3(doubtful there, no torque), and maybe if somethin else comes out, i'll see. this will all depend on how the cars hold up over the next couple years.
look at he GT-R, that thing has tranny issues that will make the first year models hard to resell, they are already going for sticker in some places. they will have to fix that issue if they want their car to sell next year and the years to come.
not that i had the money, but if i did, i would be GLAD i didnt buy the first year GT-R. i have already heard of numerous owners who have trashed their tranny and been out of warranty for it.

Even Toyota and Honda don't pull this bull****.
Dude - if you have a Benz S550, why are you wasting your time in a V6 300? - Especially if you care so much what other people think???...only because of your job of course.

I needed a second car that I could "abuse" or that I wasn't worried about bringing to work on a daily basis. When I go to appointments at people's houses I use the 550. But when I go to a WALMART or a parking lot - next to these dummies who let carts roll around or who lean up on cars, I take the 300.
My point about the interior quality is merely to say: Chrysler deserves to go under if they can't compete - and competition doesn't mean putting out a car with a design so bland that people gotta put "stickers" all over it.

But then you put down your hard-earned sheckels on one, so does that make it a good buy for what it is or not?
Look - I'm just giving you a hard time. But you obviously have discerning tastes and you bought one...so it must not be THAT bad. And a lot of your complaints do not even apply to the SRT8, which is where you are posting about all this.
I sat in the 2009 CTS V on Monday. It was awesome. I didn't drive it but we started it and it sounded incredible. If I'm not mistaken I think the salesman said it had 596HP!!!!!!!! Is that sick......! It was an over $60,000 car. The 08 and 09 body style is definetly better than what you probably looked at back then. Even the 3.6 CTS has a better profile now, and the STS also. Monday I looked at a 2006 STS V also while I was there. Nice car but I kept teetering back to my little ole 5.7 C. I'd need a lot of money to pull me away from my C because I'm begining to think that the new CTS V would be the only car that could do it right now and I just can't near afford that kind of money for a car. Hell, I don't even have a garage here at the condo!
