But then you put down your hard-earned sheckels on one, so does that make it a good buy for what it is or not?
Look - I'm just giving you a hard time. But you obviously have discerning tastes and you bought one...so it must not be THAT bad. And a lot of your complaints do not even apply to the SRT8, which is where you are posting about all this.
Eric
Im with you on this. Im not trying to be rude but these are my thoughts....

I sat in the 2009 CTS V on Monday. It was awesome. I didn't drive it but we started it and it sounded incredible. If I'm not mistaken I think the salesman said it had 596HP!!!!!!!! Is that sick......! It was an over $60,000 car. The 08 and 09 body style is definetly better than what you probably looked at back then. Even the 3.6 CTS has a better profile now, and the STS also. Monday I looked at a 2006 STS V also while I was there. Nice car but I kept teetering back to my little ole 5.7 C. I'd need a lot of money to pull me away from my C because I'm begining to think that the new CTS V would be the only car that could do it right now and I just can't near afford that kind of money for a car. Hell, I don't even have a garage here at the condo!
Exactly! They are sick rides and i would love to have one! I just cant justify spending the money to get the new V when the C has made me happy for a lot less. If i had the money burning a hole in my pocket, id pick one up. I need to focus on finishing school right now so im happy with what i got.
This goes back to the whole "best bang for the buck" which the C clearly is!!!
I understand why you would go with the E55, but re-read my post and you will see my reasons for not choosing it. The main reason being the lack of warranty or having to pay a steep price to get the kind of warranty I got with my new SRT8. The dash rattle really bothered me too, but the price with warranty was the deal breaker. It would have ended up costing me more for the E55 which someone may have abused and not properly maintained for several years. The upgraded interior is "not bad" in the SRT8. It's not great either, but I don't have any complaints, especially when you consider the price I paid.
I do have one question for you though. Why would you care about what the women you entertain think about the car you drive? That seems really strange to me. Are you in some kind of business where your job is to entertain women? I don't think there are many women that care about the car you drive. Every girl I've ever dated or entertained could give a rats ass about my car. Probably close to 99% of women don't care about cars, or at least that has been my experience. They care about the PERSON who drives the car. Cars don't impress most women. Trust me on this. Come to think of it, I sure wish I had a minivan "to impress the women with" when I was in high school and college That would have been awesome.

The Chrysler 300 has astonished me by how cheap the designers have gone for interior quality. For example, on my car, I had to go out and buy the plastic-chrome trim for my bumper front and rear. WHY? It only cost $20 for the whole pack. Why didn't Chrysler give us this?
The interior is nothing but polyeurethane and plastic. WHY?
Back in 2004 it wasn't so bad or noticeable because of the nice walnut highlights but now, its painfully obvious that the only interior upgrades for 08' are minor plastic-chrome trim and LED's in the cup holders/door sills + that silly line of wood on the passenger side.
When I saw a brand new 08 Heritage model, they didn't even have the plastic-chrome inserts around the handles. In my car, I added those plasti-wood ones (otherwise it looks like cheap plastic grooves) and I added the plastic chrome handle line.
What bothers me is that some 08's come with it, some don't - and if you ask the dealer, they want to charge $100 for it. MADNESS.
CHRYSLER DESERVES TO GO BANKRUPT IF THEY CAN'T GET THIS RIGHT

get the car YOU like best. getting a car as either an investment or to impress others is the surefire road to disappointment.

Well, I should have said girls & clients, cause I want my clients to be able to strike up a conversation with me about -other things - to help get more comfortable when I have to give them good/bad news.
You'd be suprised how easily someone will sign on a dated line when they TRUST YOU because you've spent hours just talking about "stuff"
When I first met my future wife, she was impressed that I was driving a 12 year old Dodge Coronet slant 6. She would not have been impressed had I been driving the latest hot car (not that there were many hot cars in 1979). She still doesn't care what she drives as long as it runs which is too bad for me as I would love to pair my 300C up with a Magnum RT but she just wants to stick with her 2001 Concorde. Sigh!

My wife is the same way. She is like most people and wants inexpensive, reliable, and fuel effecient transportation. Nothing more than a tool to get from point A to point B. Toyota and Honda are doing okay now (not good, but not on the verge of bankruptcy like some others) yet they don't make any exciting cars in my opinion. They are building what people want, boring cars. At least Chrysler, GM, and Ford have some exciting cars.
Oh yeah, my wife was impressed that I had a car with air conditioning that actually worked. Apparently, someone she dated before me had a fancy car with no working air conditioning!

LOL! As practical as a boring car sounds... I just couldnt do it. I figure i spend most of my time driving so i want to enjoy the ride... Ill pay the difference and buy something i really like as opposed to something that will just work for me.
Sounds like yall got some good chics! Any girl thats after you for material items... stay clear!! lol Im only 23 but i try to keep what i have low key. I have what i have because i like it. I dont want girls thinking any more of me because of my ride. On the other hand, i have friends that depend on their things to pull chics. lol Whatever works i guess but that not my style...
