Never 'ordered' a car before.....can you negotiate under MSRP?

I would assume the answer to be yes, possible? I realize that the SRT-8 may be different, but a typical vehicle, if ordered, can you negotiate say 'invoice' like you can something on the lot? Again, I know it may be tougher to do, but possible?

I'll likely wait to see an SRT-8 on the lot and have a lot....but wanted to kick around the idea....

Thanks all,
Travis

i think if you get a lower then sticker price on a not built srt..youll be waiting a very very long time..but if you can get a vin# off of them with your name on it then your half way to having it but i would expect someone to come in and offer a few g's more and they juss sell it right out from under your feet..gl..herbs

I have bought my last two vehicles ordered. I was able to get my C (not SRT-8) at the employee price, but I HAD to order it. Unfortunately, now dealers will not honor the employee price for the C. Before that, I ordered a Ford Expedition for 500 over invoice from the fleet dealer in '97. For an ordinary car, there should be no problem ordering it for around invoice, for the SRT-8, notta chance since it is such a limited edition.

Thanks C-Man, this directly answers my question. Ordering a vehicle, you can negotiate just as if the vehicle was on the lot (so to speak), below MSRP, to invoice, under invoice, etc...

I appreciate your insight.

Thanks,
Travis

If you are a member of a credit union, many have agreements with local dealers to purchase cars for 100-500 over invoice. There is no problem ordering a car in this scenario. There are stipulations on which cars, such as not good on vettes etc. That's what I did for my Expedition. Also my current employer has friends and family discounts with Ford, Chyrsler and GM. Those are even better deals for under invoice. I have not personally used them, butI know several coworkers who have. I am not sure if you can order a car with the F&F or if you have to take it off the lot.
