Alpha dealer??

Went to a fairly new large dealership today. They are only about 14 months old and dont have five star status yet. They claimed to be an alpha dealership, selling 500 to 600 cars a month. Was I being fed a line or is there such a thing?

Alpha Point = 5-Star Chrysler, Jeep AND Dodge. Volume has little to do with it.
No 5-star, no alpha point.

hrmm..they are chrysler, dodge and jeep. I was talking with the guy who orders the inventory. He admitted they aren't a 5 star but suggested it was because they were just about 14 months old. He called himself an alpha dealship.

I was trying to get him to explain how the allocation process works. Since everyone here thinks its better to stick with a 5 star dealership. He said he had talked to factory rep this week an rep said if he ordered now dont expect car till October.

what to do .what to do

Because they are new, and the 5-star process takes a while, they may be considered an alpha point while they earn 5-star.
The next possible allocation will be July, for August build, for august-september delivery, so October isn't that far off. It sounds like a good place to place an order, if they're informed and willing to discuss allocation. It really depends on how many orders they already have in.
Good luck,
RT
