Need help with vents next to fog lights

I washed my car for the first time today and noticed something while drying. Next to the fog lights there is an air duct with a black plastic piece on the inside. Both sides of mine appear to be just sitting in their loosely and can be moved around. Mine was not in their correctly, so I had to snap into place behind the curve of the fog light hole in the air dam. Has anyone noticed this on theirs and should they be fastened down somewhere? I was also going to ask about the hole on the passenger side, but found that topic in search

I've removed mine. But they are held on by those tabs that you see from the fascia going through the actual black plastic cover. Behind the cover there is a metal wedge-like piece that slides down into the tab to hold the cover on.

Here is a great mod for the lower vents that GMACJR65 just posted, which has a clear picture of the back - http://www.300cforums.com/forums/ext...-me-grill.html

After removing mine and removing the air silencer, I "feel" like I am getting more air to the engine. I'm lucky I saved my covers as I am now going with the mesh down there to match my grill with the help of GMACJR65.

Good luck.

EDIT: Just realized you have a '10 SRT - might not be the exact same. Sorry.

Thanks for the reply Fisch. Mine doesn't have any clips (unless they are missing) it just sits inside the lip of the spoiler and can be moved back and forth. There was also another black plastic piece that is on both sides of the air dam that was out of place. A bunch of gorillas must have put the thing together or the dealership was a little rough while prepping it. You always seem to discover things when washing a car.

No prob. Glad to help.

As for yours not having clips, that could be due to a difference in the '10 SRT or just the SRT fascia in general that I was thinking of. OR, the clips might have fallen out. The first time I took my fascia off I noticed that one side didn't have clips. They are just wedges afterall, so I can see how it could happen. That being said, I have an '06 - much more time for one to work itself out as compared to a '10, so I don't know.

And I hear ya about washing the car - always find something new! Especially when you have an '06!
