Mopar Cruise-in....Ooohs, and Aaaahs abound.

Damn!

I went to a local cruise-in and I could not believe the attention I got.

When I rolled up another Black SRT8 was sitting off the main drag. It was srt2fast4u's SRT8. The first one (besides mine of course) I've seen on the road.

We pulled into a parking lot next to the main drag to get more attention and got a little, but then srt2fast4u had to go.

A spot opened on the main street and pulled in next to a 289 65 Mustang and a Ford Thunderbird?? yeah, mopar night....sure.

Anyway, A couple times I had up to 8 people all standing around me listening to me talking about the car and lecturing almost like I was the local candidate for mayor in that town.

There were Vipers, Ferrari's, a Hemicuda, and various other beautiful cars and I can honestly say mine got the most attention. Every time I turned my head someone was all giddy to talk to me.

I even met a guy who had a CTS-V who could not give me enough props.

"I didn't even know they were out!" he said excitedly. He IMMEDIATLY gets on the cell phone to tell his friends what he's standing next to. "I'm gonna shine my V up and bring it next week, are you going to be here?!" Sure I said. And then we'll race.

People didn't just say: "Hey nice car," or "Bad ass ride".

They said those things at least 10 times each!

This car is truly beloved. I even had to educate people on what it was. They didn't understand the SRT8 moniker they just liked the look.

...but when I informed them they couldn't be more impressed.

God I love this car.

My favorite question of the night was:

Him--"So how is the 5.7 hemi."

Me--"I wouldn't know"

Him--"Why is this the V6?"

me--"No it's the 6.1 hemi."

His eyes light up.

Him--"What's the specs on this?"

I proceeded to enlighten him all the while him drooling on his shoe.

Hey Eric, no sweat. I didn't hear from you so I didn't think you could make it. Besides, I didn't get there until 7:00 anyway.

1:30 drive is NOT an excuse. I only just realized how far Waukegan is last week for you

I'll have to make a weekend thing out of it.

I'm free this Saturday actually, any good cruise-in's you know of?
