Much, Much Better Now

Today, I finally went out and bedded my brakes. GOD WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!

The constant squealing finally drove me up a frigging wall. It took me about 20-mins. Drove it during lunch with NO NOISE.

As i'm sure you other guys know, my wheels are now nearly black.

Hey Mich, was the process basically speed up to 60 and brake hard down to zero and do this about six or seven times? I think I heard mean starting to squeal a little. I gather this does not do anything for the rotor grooving that is also starting to occur right on schdule.

Yep, do 10 runs up to 60mph, then brake down hard to 10mph. Not a complete stop. After run 7 or 8, you'll smell your brakes smoking. Drive for 10-mins. Don't get caught in traffic at a standstill while cooling them down.

Do 10 more runs, exactly the same. Hard to 60, then hard brake, right to the limit before ABS kicks in. Drive for 10-mins to cool the brakes down.

You'll notice a blueish tinge on your rotors and tons of dust on the wheels.

Works great. Here is the web article:

I complained about the brake wear on ours when I took it in a few weeks ago. The dealership did a micro-finish on the rotors and the squel has been abscent sense. The car hasn't gotten many miles, either, but the wear issue doesn't appear to have improved....I already see the same grooves starting to reform(appear to be in exactly the same area of the rotor, too...).
