CAI for 6.1

Sorry if I am beating a dead horse here but what CAI are you "experienced" SRT8 owners putting on your cars? Got Zoomers and thougt this would be the other mod to do.

Thanks for your patience with a Magnum SRT8 "newbie"! Any other 6.1 performance upgrade suggestions (probably not a blower buyer right now) would be appreciated too!

Thanks again!
KK

CAI has not proven to provide much beyond sound for the plain 5.7L 300C vehicles and so far, we have very unreliable dyno info for a CAI on the SRT-8. The only dyno I have seen was done with a system similar to the Mopar CAI and the dyno was run with the hood open. This benefits a CAI with a large conical filter in the location it is well beyond what you would see with the hood closed.

JKetron...

hahahaha
NOT!!!
you are the only with anything "cute" on his car...
that little itty bitty...
"SUPERCHARGED"
tag right under your SRT-8 logo on the trunk...
Although, I'll let you know if the "cute" little MOPAR CAI does anything to my ride...
like make enough noise so I don't here you galloping off in the distance...

To quote the September 2005 Motor Trend article on the Mag SRT8: "A revised high-flow (and resonator tuned) air-cleaner box conributes eight horespower and part of the SRT's signature growl." (Page 59 in my copy, about 1/2 way through the "street and racing technology" box at the bottom of pages 58 and 59)
I wonder if aftermarket CAI can improve HP or sound more than the factory did?

If i had to guess, there's probably a few hp ( and I REALLY mean a few) to be gained and some earlier posts report a different sound from the mopar unit. But I guess if you've got the money it really does look cool as hell and I'm considering it on that note alone........at least until GS comes out with stage II.

Quest for HP

Did someone say Stage II?? We will be adding a few more ponies this weekend, I'm looking for 600rwhp and a 11.XX time slip.

If you guys want to add quick HP go Magnaflow, it sounds incredible and is a must have for any add-on quest. They are developing some high flow cats too if you are ready to go to the next level.

Here is my goal:

GSmotorsports Stage II supercharger 8-10lb kit
Dual gauge pod with boost and Inovative AF wideband
Widen factory rims or new ones
F1 tires
Stoptech 6 piston brake package

Cooks Headers (Jet Coated)
Magnaflow CATs
Magnaflow CAT-back
