Extended Warranty/ Prepaid Oil Changes

Guys,

What prices have you paid for the following on the SRT8s?

1. 7/70 Extended Warranty Plan (and what's the deductible)
2. Prepaid Oil Changes Plan (and for how many changes)

Thanks,

kc2ntlh

I paid $3K for the two combined. The maintenance plan was good for 4 years.

I believe most dealers are charging somewhere around $160.00 for the oil change. You could talk to your dealer's service department and find out how much they charge. The owners manual specs changes every 3K to 6K miles, so figure the miles you drive and see if it works for you.

Edit: Make sure you see what your dealer is charging for the changes....Apparently, the dealer I called here is needing to do some remodeling and doubled the price compared to what others posted in another thread.

Extended Warranty

Here's the Warranty plan I got. I can have up to 20 oil changes over the 5 year period based on every 3 months. The cost of the oil change would be almost as much as the whole warranty. Check out all the other benefits that come with this plan. I don't know if this exact plan is available in the US though. They would have something similar I'm sure.

I just called a Chrysler dealer regarding the oil change maint plan for the Hemi.

12 oil changes (12 coupons) = $295 or $24.58 each
Tax is included in this price.

Oil change and tire rotation every 3000 miles, or 3 months.
This is the 36 month plan = total 12 changes = $465 or $38.75 each

I will be calling another local dealer to see if their price is the same.

remember guys...

the cost for the SRT is higher...
much higher...
the extended warrranty has a $275.00 mark-up no matter what level, deductible or term is chosen...

and the oil is the same way...
synthetic for SRT-8 has a very high cost at the dealer...
go the pre-paid plan way and cut your cost in half...
their cost is capped at $85.00 for oil, filter and lube...
FYI...

Has anybody else in Canada questioned the ridiculous difference between the surcharge we must pay for the privilege of adding an extended warranty to our SRT8’s in Canada ($1375.00) vs. the US (275.00)?

300srt-8

that is the surcharge on ALL SRT-8's...
that is in "addition" to the normal cost for the 300C warranty...
some guys got it at the "regular" cost - and it is going to be a wait and see on them as they have SRT-8's and the dealer who sold them the warranty didn't add in the $275.00 surcharge for it being a SRT-8.
It is not $275.00 for an extended warranty here in the States...

I understand that the $275.00 is only the surcharge for SRT owners in the US. I was trying to make the point that we here in Canada must pay a surcharge of $1375.00 just to get the privilege of purchasing an inferior warranty (we cannot get any extended warranty over 5 years).

Will fellow SRT owners please confirm for me that the SRT surcharge on extended warranties in the US is in fact $275.00?
