50 dollar oil changes

My local dealer quoted around 50 bucks for Mobil 1 with oil change on SRT8. They are Cowles Chrysler on RT1 in Woodbridge VA.

Sounds better than $90-100 oil changes which I read other SRT-8 owners mentioned what it cost. Not bad if you ask me.

Not bad, as I'm paying about $70 here at my local 'Five Star' Chrysler dealer.

Is that for the change or just the oil? I've been quoted $7.00qt x 7 = $49.00. Then you have to figure in the filter and the labor charge. Around here it's about $80.00. if they really will do it all for $50.00 you very may well have found the cheapest oil change I've heard of (without doing it yourself of course )

I wonder if they're using the 0w40 oil ?? I think that would make a big price difference in oil change cost, you would just want to make sure you are getting the same thing ..... any other oil, say a 5w40 would be acceptable, depending on your climate, but it is also $2-$3 cheaper a quart too .....

That would be great, but I have a feeling that he's looking at the wrong page. Cost of materials is that and then some. Let us know if he holds true to his quote. Cecil..........

0W40?? Car calls for 5W20 guys...

Local Valvoline Quick Oil Changer Center down the street from my house charges me in excess of $50 (but less than $60) for a lube/oil/filter with Valvoline 5W20 synthetic.

Dude, I think you're in the wrong forum. The SRT8 requires 0W40...

But thanks for playing...
