Next best mod..

Hey guys,
Just wondering what you'd recommend after the Intake, Catch-can, exhaust, t-stat, Tune...

Whats the next best reasonable upgrade... not talking turbos / superchargers...

Are headers worth it? Ive read around this forum and there is not much gain from headers?

Got a friend with a G8 GT, has some small performance upgrades but smack talk has started.. lol

Ported TB and ported intake manifold with a custom CMR tune or a dyno tune are just a few options that won't break the bank too bad.

High flow mids would be good and a good exhaust, Bigger throttle body on a stock motor is not recomended (no gain here). Unless you are ready to do heads cam, headers will not help you ,Biggest bang for buck is n2o or a zex kit. After that it gets expensive.

You could always add a cam like the SRT max from Inertia. It's about 400 bucks roughly plus install costs or you could do it yourself. I've heard lots of people do this. No need to change out anything else, but will definitely put out more power with heads.

Well thanks guys, I think more mods will come this spring. Had the car for 2 weeks now but only drove it for 5-6 days due to weather...
..I really need a warm day to open her up and see what exactly she has.. The shifts are pretty clean and it is def tuned just not sure how far the other owner went with it...

I have a mopar exhaust on it now, not really sure if its close to borla or magnaflo but it does sound great... ( I will try to upload some sound clips sooner or later)

Shift kit (tranZformer?) or CMR tune does sound good, any ideas of what types of gains are expected from these?

Any specific recommendations (supplier name / models numbers) to any of the above upgrades would be great, + gains or price..

Thanks guys.

Here is the shift kit link ----> http://www.zautotech.com/tranzformer.html

All cmr tunes are different but will be a good mod at around 350 to 500 depending on tuner. There are many threads on this and Maddog would be best to talk to about this one as he has me motivated to get one this spring!!!

My CMR tune may have been extraordinary but with an intake, exhaust and canned 91 octane tune, I got 378 RWHP on the baseline run. After the CMR tune, done on the same day in the same conditions on the same dyno with the same run to 6200 RPM the tuner got 411 RWHP out of it. My tuner is a Diablosport authorized and trained shop.

The gears are a great torque multiplier and will definitely help with the launch and 60' time. Traction issues multiply but if you get a Challenger or Gertrag LSD with 3.55's or 3.73's, it's an awesome upgrade. The car will feel 1,000 pounds lighter.

One other thing to consider would be a higher stall torque converter but that can have an impact on daily driveability until you get used to it.

CMR tune = $500 or less

Getrag LSD with 3.73's = $1600 + install or do it with your buds.

Torque converter for NAG1 = $800 + install (2800 - 3200 rpm stall. See Arrington's page on their products.)
