exhaust

Has anyone removed the rear resonator and added a larger tip? Are you happy with the sound? I would like to get a deep mellow sound with-out replacing the entire system. Any suggestions would be appreciated.. What is the purpose of the rear resonator??MAGNUM SRT* THANKS

Thumbs up

Just this past week I replaced the "suitcase" muff with 2 Magnaflow 14" muffs and removed the resonators and replaced with 22" stainless rolled/slash tips.
In a word AWESOME! It cost me $350 for labor and parts, and the sound is great. I ran it up on the interstate today and set the cruise at 75mph. NO DRONE!!! It sounds like a big block now. Well, a big block with a small cam.

Also, for those that dont know, SRT-8 suitcase mufflers are a STRAIGHT THROUGH design. Just like a Magnaflow. Look in one end and see light out the other. I was pretty impressed at the quality and design of the exhaust as a whole. Mandrel bent and a nice X pipe too.
