Injen is not new to the aftermarket game. But there CAI for the LX's is relatively new to the market.

I waited so long for Injen to make it. I forgot all about checking back with them to see if it was finished.

I am going to buy the Injen CAI for the 6.1 SRT's next month and send it in for the Great CAI face off, for testing. Then Matt will send it back to me.

Great looking piece, which is alot of what you do the CAI intake for anyway.

DUBSTER: It is indeed a beautiful looking CAI. Something very different looking than most of the CAI out there for the LX.

Loaded: www.Injen.com Check out there site and read up on there CAI technology. Should help you learn more about this product.

Knovict: It does have that PHAT squashed look to it. I like it as well, how it fills up the engine bay.

Gritz45: It is a great looking piece. You are correct, CAI are mostly for looks, jazzing up an engine bay. Injen has some of the sexiest Plenums (The curved part of the CAI tube, before entering the intake manifold) in the business.

Hey Freebird, you think they can get any additional HP with their design? Gut feeling?

My gut is a little large, so it takes a lot for me to feel it, lol.

Honestly, probably not more or less than the others on the market. I don't see it as being the breakaway "get your motor running" CAI of all CAI's. But after it has it's turn at bat, with Matt and his testing they have done so far on literally every kind of manufactured or home made CAI, for the LX's. Only then will we have some kind of benchmark of how it performs against the others out there.

The Great CAI face off.

I am getting the Injen one because it just has a great look to it. IMHO. Plus SRT II is my daily driver so I want the CAI to be all up in the engine bay.

CAI to CAI it is really about what your personal preference and road conditions you have are. (ie dusty or always wet, no Hennessey or GSM CAI for you) But a CAI that is all up in the engine bay. Then at that point you have to decide from the many CAI out there which one goes with your look and overall finish you are going for, for your ride.

I went with the Hennessey CAI for FreebirdSRT (filter right behind my lower intake near fog light) plus he made me a custom one off, all welded as one piece of pipe. So far the Hennessey CAI is one of the only few CAI that actually showed HP gains at the great CAI face off. Not a clear run away winner, but HP gains no less. Freebird is not a daily driver though.
