They told to me take it back and have then readjust the system and place a couple of washers (spacers) on each screw. Well at first it work great when the car was up on the rack the muffler did not hit the bracket, but once the car was started and headed down the road; the vibration was worse and very loud.

I wanted to know has anyone else experience this and if so how did you fix it or can anyone give any suggestions?

I called Magnaflow but without them seeing it, they really don't know. Though they said it sounds like the clamps are loose and again have the installer readjust it and also apply wielding points at the cat conv and joints. Has anyone heard about this technique?

Any assistance is appreciated.

I just had Magnaflow hi flow cats and the cat back exhaust installed on my 300C SRT8 the other day, & I found 2 vibration spots.

One is the obvious, the black bracket right below you X pipe (cross member). Since the pipes on the magnaflow are 3inches not 2.50(factory) there is less room for two 3inch pipes rathers than two 2.50 inchers. So on my car of of the pipes sits or hits that black cross member bar. Can the exhaust be pushed up a little higher closer to the crank shaft.....I dont know. All you need is a piece of material able to withstand the heat of the exhaust. Like the stuff sun deflectors are made of. Something to stop the meatal to metal vibration without melting.

The second spot was the trunk spot right behind the gas tank & axle. It seems like the pipe was not bent 100% accurately and hits the underbody part of the trunk. maybe ask Magnaflow for a new piece of pipe for just that spot or put something between the underbody & the pipe. I wouldnt try rebending the pipe or banging the underbody.

But those are the only 2 vibration spots I know of. Let me know if you come across any fixs or more spots.

[quote=greedyk;360825]You don't need spacers installed.
When you install the pipes they need to keep the cross member/bracket in place.
I placed a temporarily 1- 11/2 inch spacer (I used some pieces of plywood) between the pipes and bracket.
Tightened al the clamps and removed the spacer and a perfect fit.
You have to re torque all the clamp after a couple days if not they will relax a little witch could cause the pipes to sag and hit you bracket.
I did this installation with magnaflows and Corsa with no problems
Also Magnaflow makes crapy clamps and I used torctite clamps see link:
Torca
look for torctite in left column.
Also available on ebay

I installed the Corsa nine months ago. Stock cross brace fit perfectly without spacers. Have never had to readjust a single clamp. I think a lot has to do with the original installation. Locktite is a good product, but I don't think it's necessary with the Corsa clamps.

This brace is listed as a structural "tunnel brace". If it was just meant to hold an exhaust in place in the assembly line, there is no way they'd have spent the money on a brace. They would have used a wire hanger or something. So I very much doubt that. But may be a good question for the SRT engineers in the next chat.

I feel good that Corsa lets you retain the brace without any washers or clearance issues. That being said, there are SRT owners that have removed it without any adverse consequences.

Here are a couple of threads where the mysterious cross member is discussed.

Removing the Cross Member under the Exhaust

FYI - Magnaflow exhaust issue with "strut" bar...
