Gas Mileage with new exhaust??

Have any of you seen any gas mileage gains from exhaust upgrades on the Hwy specifically? Also what are the best mods for power and gas mileage outside of replacing the heads and intake?

I haven't seen any gas mileage increase with my exhaust or CAI mods. The best mod for increased power I have found is having my PCM flashed by B & G. I got a noticeable increase in over all performance and it is a blast to drive.

Sadly most member report actual mileage decreases with exhaust modifications because of an overwhelming compulsion to have WOT sprints just to hear their new baby growl. This really seems to be the norm. What the actual numbers are is anyone's guess….but you just can’t wipe the smile off their faces that’s for sure.

When did a SRT8 ever get 24 mpg?

Down a mountain maybe....

Although, and I will start another thread for this. I have noticed some strange variations in mileage.

I think Gary was just interjecting his experiences with WOT sprints and new exhaust systems on his 5.7. The phenomenon I mention in my above post holds true for both the 6.1 owners as well as the 5.7’s! They both have big grins on their faces too.

well excuse me for not having a srt8 (it's in the planning to get one in 2008 if they are not turned in to a GM product!)
This was kind of a joke statement....don't take things so serious .
And yes, going downhill I get excelent mileage, up to 38 mpg

Smile Mojo, just kidding.
Have a nice day
Gary
