JimTurner Fan Mod - Both High/Both Low???

Alright i'm getting ready to do this Fan Mod to compliment the 4127 Motorad TStat i already installed.

I have a question about which one to do. One turns on both fans on High, the other version turns both fans on low. Would both fans on Low be sufficient enough to keep it at 176* during the summer here in the SE. Would both fans on be the ticket?

Any input on this please!
Justin

I have the simple fan mod, which I believe puts one fan on high and one on low. When it was over 105 degrees in Vegas I could not keep the water temp below 200. So both fans on low will not keep the temp at 176 if you leave someplace really hot.

The "simple fan mod" does either both on low, or one fan on high (like the gsm mod) however you choose to wire it.

Ok, I know I put the fans as high as I could with the easy install requiring modification to only one relay. I did it more than nine months ago so some of the details are vague. Even cruising 70+ on the freeway in Vegas, the water temp would only go down to 200. Everywhere else I've been able to keep the temp 176-180.

I believe the small fan is for the ac condenser and has no effect on the engine temp.
I use a switch that turns on the large fan only, works ok but have not been in high ambient temp since the mod. Still evaluating.

I imitated the ONE fan on HIGH MOD with another switch (and with relay and all the other stuff) to turn BOTH fans ON low, by tapping into another wire under the fuse box.
So now I have BOTH mods with different switches and the they can turned on at the same time if I want to

I used to think pretty much the same, pyle, and probably stated so here in the forum.

Turns out I was wrong.

Reality is that both fans are essentially equal in terms of their respective abilities to cool the motor.

I'm controlling the driver's side radiator fan via a GSM mod's fan switch, and the passenger-side radiator fan via a jaak mod fan switch. As such I can run either, or both, fan(s) on high.

If anything, the passenger-side fan is more effective than the driver's-side fan (by just a few degrees) in cooling the engine.

Best, by far, is running *both* fans.
