Do headers increase sound over just cat-back?

Title says it all. I have Magnaflow cat back how would the sound change with headers. For example the Kooks longtubes with cats is what I'm thinking about.

Thank you guys. Probably not the best idea for a wife driven car. Need more power, not more sound. lol.

If she is sensitive to the roar of power it may not be the best idea. You’ve got to keep the Mrs. happy.

So I guess cut outs are out of the question then?

One way to get the horsepower gain from long tubes without the added sound is to keep the catback stock. You hardly notice any increase in sound during normal driving with that set-up.

Or, longies and Corsa. I've heard it, and it sounds nice and quiet. Or, you can do cutouts like I did. The stock exhaust all the time, but when at the track I hit a switch, open the door for the monsters to come out. Much less restrictive than any on the market exhaust.

Good point, since the wife is a factor here. The headers are not really the problem for the excessive sound, it would be the magnaflows and their drone.

The Kooks will add some noise, especially if you go with the catless midpipes. I am thinking of sticking the cats back on mine because I have woken up a few customers at our hotels in the morning! LOL! If you don't want to do Kooks, go with Moose's setup it sounds awesome.
