After researching the different options the AFE is my favorite based on performance, looks and price.

I am having a hard time deciding whether or not to do a CAI. I like that the car is quiet and the stock airbox flows quite well. I think I am going to start with a drop in K&N and see how that works. If I want more I'll probably look at the AFE...

For a long time now I have been asking to show me that the Air Hammer does boost Significant power over the other CAI's. That means apples to apples on a dyno and a track run. There is no way that the Air Hammer is going to give you Significant performance gains vs. other CAI's when comparing apples to apples.

Stealth, you state the CAI is the only mod you will be doing. I'd save myself a bunch of money and do what JMatt and some others have done. Taking what you already have and getting the air to it better. Here's another idea. If you look at your stock tubing now, it is almost identical to a lot of CAI's including the Hammer. Just put a "big ol'' filter on the end of it.

Now if one was going to be making a lot of performance mods, i.e. Meister, Hal and some others, then buying a CAI of choice that fits their concept is a different set of accomplishments.

Good luck

I would stick with what I had if you’re going by strict performance gains rather than cosmetic gains. Moose also brings us some valid points.

Personally..I would get the "Air Flow" Foam Filter, it is a dropin
replacement for the OEM. It flows a LOT more air, doesn't need to be
cleaned as often as the K&N. I had one for a longtime..VERY Happy
with it. I changed over to the "Frankentake III " for looks, sound, &
performance.
And for the setup, it only costs $105.00 if you do it
yourself.
Search Frankentake, either here or at LXForums

This is just MY Personal Opinion on products that I have used.

I just installed the AFE stage 2 today and the sound is incredible! I do feel a little bit of a difference of better throttle response, but i think I need to drive at WOT a little more so the computers can learn the agressive driving style. I think for the money and based on the performance proven at the face off, the AFE stage 2 is the way to go!

How much was it? How did it perform against the AirHammer in the face off?
