cold air

I've added the mopar cold air and you do have a noticable increase over100 mph. later added cat back (mopar) and had additional kick over 120. I have a 2006 srt8 300 and yes it will go 170. The cat back and cold air help quit a bit.

Has anyone any experience with chips?

It placed second, at about half the price. I got the dry pro s filter, which doesn't need to be oiled. I don't know if the performance is on par with the original stage 2 filter, but I did feel a difference. Maybe someone can verify the performance difference between the two.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder folks...

cause both the AFE and Airhammer are ugly arse units, so I personally would never do either

I've written it before, Mopar CAI and Corsa cat-back exhaust, gave me a combined 19 HP RW addition Pretty much DEAD ON "realistic" numbers, especially given the claims by Corsa, and my assumed hypothesis regarding the influence of the CAI

these gains are fine by me, and WELL worth the $1400.00 total expense. Add to that, they both LOOK gorgeous to me as well, in addition to performance gains. Also, with all due respect, I must write, that any member claiming a 10HP gain with ANY cai...is simply either being disingenuous, or is nuts! That is NOT going to happen, IMO if you gain 3-5HP with ANY cai...you should be thrilled

just my thoughts...

thanks all for your input. i've decided to put a drop in K&N for now. as stated here by some of y'all, i'm sure down the road i'll want to make some performance mods. when i do, the CAI will be part of the package along with exhaust, etc. everyone had something good to say and that's why i love this forum so much. it's a great place to spend money BEFORE you spend the money.

I put the Mopar CAI in my car and it hurt my gas milage. I was averaging about 15-16 mpg stock (I always fill my tank full and then reset my trip. I take miles on trip/gallons to full for actual mpg). With the Mopar CAI I get about 13-14. This is the first car I've had where a CAI has hurt the milage. Anyone with the other CAIs ever test their mpg befoer and after? I always make sure to test every mod 1 at a time. You never can tell...

I am going with a drop in filter at first as well. The SRT8 airbox is a beautifully designed piece. Also there have been NO back to back dynos with an Airhammer versus SRT8 stock airbox. Only the 5.7 have been tested.

I did remove the duct next to the drivers side foglight to get cold fresh air to the bottom of the stock airbox.

Chrispy, how did you do that? If there's a thread on this subject, I aplogize for not searching before I asked.
