I think that the Corsa cat-back is the way to go . It is a little more expensive than the rest but worth it . Some have bought an aftermarket and changed it again to the corsa . The corsa produces less cabin noise / drone than the rest . It is mellow(but nice) at idle or cruise ....but screams under heavy throttle . The headers I like the best were the dynatech's(comes with hi-flow cats...as they all do) . I had them jet-coated to reduce engine bay heat from them . The kooks headers produce a check engine light from the oxygen sensors and it is tough ,if not impossible to clear . ......where as if you get one (a check engine light ) with the dynatech ...pull fuse 11 for 30 seconds and it's gone . You need to pull fuse 11 (under your hood in the black covered fuse box) for 30 seconds anyway after you do these or any other mods for your car to really adapt/learn to them . As for your tuning question....the only tuning available right now is the B&G flash (stage II is how i went) . There is no programmable tuner's....just this PCM flash....for now . All of these things can be bought from the supporting vendors of this forum . Click on forum(top menu) and scroll down to supporting vendors (HHP , Tbyrne , ETC.).....and shop around for a deal . Good luck and welcome to the forum . Ask away if you need any help , Mike .

welcome

welcome to the forum.

Note that unless you are going to some ported heads and cam, long tubes will produce very minimal gains and are very expensive for the improvement. SRT8 has a nice set of shorty headers with double walls for containment of heat from the factory.

Aftermarket cat back is a great way to improve the sound, but note also that after around 6-10K miles you will see a tremendous improvement in the stock pipes as far as tone.

Many people are quite surprised to find that there isn't much HP on the exhaust side of these motors. But if you want a particular sound, there are many clips on this forum you can listen to. I would agree that the Corsa is a cool sounding set of pipes.

Good luck with your modding!

We have to agree....

The Corsa is our most popular exhaust for the SRT8. Borla runs a close 2nd though. Of these 2, the Borla is the more aggressive (soundwise) but it does have a cheaper price tag. The Corsa is virtually unheard on the inside of the cabin, whereas the Borla does increase the interior cabin noise just a bit (nothing to obnoxious). JBA and Magnaflow sales are creeping up as well.

As far as headers are concerns, it really depends if you want to go with a long tube (Dynatech/Gibson) or shorty header (JBA).

I'm sure you'll get a ton of response to these questions, but if not, and you want more info. just respond here or PM us with questions (product info, pricing, availability, etc.) and we'll provide as much pertinent info. as we can.

Good luck in your quest.

A solid 10-12 HP can be expected.

Talk to you soon,
