WOW shift hesitation!!!

Well I have about 2300 mi on the 300SRT now and boy do I have the 1-2 shift hesitation. I only experience it when I get into it hard but it is soooo outstanding it feels like Im shifting a manual shift car....holy crap...
the Shift TSB is on my list so far for the 3000 mi oil change coming up.
Other than that no issues not even the crap in the antifreeze...

Woo HOO I Love this car!!

Definitely get the TSB done. I like it for the simple fact that resting my hand on the shifter no longer accidentally puts me into stick mode. Man, I had a bunch of embarrassing moments there.

Would someone explain to me how resting your hand on the shift has anything to go with getting the TSB done to correct the shift from 1st to 2nd ?

I think they accidently bump it into autostick. I've had that happen a couple times...

Big hand always on the knob.
Go through a curve without paying attention to big hand always on the knob.
Hit the throttle.
Wonder why front end is jumping up and down.

I have always felt that the stick is too sensitive.

That's where I've been putting my hand ever since I was a kid.
Bad habit with this car.
TSB fixed that.

OK Julius, I haven't had the TSB done because I luckily don't have the hesitation, but what you are saying is that the TSB makes the shifter less sensitive ?

Good question, bigsnake. I'm wondering the same thing.

I'm surprised you don't have the hesitation or hit fuel cutoff at WOT...have you ever been there?

I'm getting the TSB done late next week but I've noticed that my stick is not sensitive at all. It definitely needs a push to one side or the other for the trans to shift in AutoStick mode.

Sorry for the confusion.

The TSB will NOT affect the actual stick. It just shifts if you accidentally go into stick mode and hit the rev limiter because the weight of your hand put you into stick mode without you realizing it.

I found that too many times I would go around a corner or curve with my hand on the stick and I would accidentally move it to the left (stick mode). My stereo is too dang loud and I wouldn't notice that my RPM's were going up to redline until the rev limiter kicked in and I started bouncing off 6200 RPM's.

The TSB will stop this from happening because it will now shift for you if you are in stick mode and don't shift in time or are unaware that you are in stick mode.

Here is why I can't hear the engine...

Funny thing is that now, after the TSB, I run in stick mode most of the time. It's a blast. Nothing like doing 55 MPH in 2nd gear and punching it.

Hope this better explains it.

Mine may be quite normal.

It just could be the village idiot driving his car and forgetting that his hand is on the shifter as he powers through a curve and puts her into stick mode without knowing it.

Fixing MY PROBLEM was just an added benefit that the TSB gave me. The 1-2 hesitation completely disappeared after the flash. That was the main reason I did the TSB.
