New modders like me READ THIS !!!!

Hey all I just came from davenport motors in my hometown .... the owner there eats breathes drinks sleeps dreams lives tuning . Anyways i went in to ask about hte jetchip and he showed me something you all should know .

4 Dynos 3 done at 3rd party shops and one done on his dyno with two different 300 srt-8. Both cars had 2 or 3 support mods . In every instance no matter what they tried the jet chip stage 1 and 2 did ABSOLUTELY nothing ..... and i mean nothing at all .

So i asked the best route to go for stocker like me and he said start with the Volante airbox ...same kind of dyno tests 4 ...3 being unbiased and the airbox ALONE on two different stock and 2 modded 300 srt-8 had a MINIMUM 10 hp gain AT THE WHEELS and yes i saw every document .

Ive seen so many posts about ppl not really noticing a dif with the jet chips .... well its because there most likely isnt one . I am getting the volante asap could be awhile though lol and i will post results to confirm all of this .

I’m not really surprised to hear those results about the chip as many members haven’t given it glowing reports. Here are some links to CAI’s you may want to read through.
Good luck!

For that reason, I went with B&G Flash 2 for the SRT8 and for a CAI, I really like my Airhammer! Woot!

I went with the Volant CAI. I like the design, it's features and the fact that it has a sealed box that draws cold air from near the grille area.

I do not have a baseline dyno on the car. All I can say is that the ever-accurate "Butt-O-Meter" says it accelerates better, has better throttle response and is making more HP.

As far as a "chip", "programmer" or a "flash", I'm holding off. I like what I've read regarding the B&G flash but have an aversion to flashing a PCM which will be read by the dealer when a problem occurs and needs diagnostic work done just because the dang dealers will use that info to deny my warranty.

If I were to get a spare PCM and program it with my VIN, then change it out each time before the car goes to the dealer that may be a solution.

In any event, I firmly believe the Volant does have some benefit.
