Ported/Polished Heads and Intake Manifold

I am starting my project list for the fall and winter. I have a 2006 300C SRT8 with a mopar CAI, Magnaflow high flow cats, and Corsa Cat-back. What I want to do is get ported and polished heads and a ported and polished intake manifold. My question is, who does the best heads? Mopar has their 6.1L ported/polished heads, HHP has theirs, Indy has theirs and GSM has theirs. Bases on flow numbers and actual performance, who's are the best? I am going to assume that power numbers are all within 10%, but this group always knows the insides to questions like this.

Based on reputations Indy is the top, but so are their prices. I'm pretty sure they even supply a lot of the performance catalogs too.

My advice to you will be to call all the performance shops (hhp, ppp, hemishop, frank racing, dynamic racing, etc) and see who you feel more comfortable with. They all have great products. I know guys who have work from all the mentioned companies and are very happy. Now about the mopar heads, I know no one who has these on the 6.1. However, I do have a personal friend with it on the 5.7 and his car runs faster than most stock srt8s. Plus on top of that there is no core charge. So you can sell your stock heads and make some change. Wish you the best of luck...I will be in your situation within a couple of months....decisions, descisions...

Do you mean ahead of others in performance, price, quality, customer service or all the above? Because if it's performance the only way to judge is track results and they do not have the fastest 6.1 with heads and cam. But in the same breath, that doesn't mean their heads are not just as good as the rest. Again, all these companies make great product and it's more about price and customer service.

Before you pull the trigger on what vendor you choose to buy from, you owe it to yourself to talk to Jason about Franks Racing heads and cams. Franks packages either equal or exceed the competitions offerings and we offer better pricing and installations here at the shop in Jersey.

Give us a call next week and we will be happy to tailor a head and cam package to best suit your budget and performance aspirations.

Happy a nice Holiday

Ernie

What I am interested in is based on quality of work, performance gains, and price, who would this group recommend. Does anyone have dyno charts or track slips to show before and after? Each shop that offers packages has a dyno chart and such, but this group tends to know the real story on the key players on the 6.1 motors. I am after a very reliable package that won't alter the long term reliability of the car and yet give me a very real performance gain. From everything I have seen, heads and intake manifold offer up roughly 50-60HP and is much safer and reliable than a SC, Nitrous and such. I am particularly interested in anyone with the Mopar heads. With the advantage of working with the SRT engineers and knowing the engine better than anyone, one would figure that they have the advantage on producing a good head package for the engine, but they would also most likely play it more conservative than some others. I am just throwing this out there and seeing what others opinions and advice would be.

I would be very interested in these results as well. Seeing that Diablo is out soon, I better start looking.

I think that what Mark is looking for (as am I) is not who sells what and who has what, but what is the best combo out there.

Who has the best heads and cam package in performance and workmanship and what were their results. All figures, data etc would be greatly appreciated.
