I am thinking of having my muffler shop cut 2.5 inch holes on my exhast pipes before the 2 rear resonators and putting 45 degree angle elbows basicly elemating the 2 rear resonators for better sound and hopifuly performence any thoughts.

Why not just chop the resi's off and weld new (straight through) pipe in its place.

Alternatively:

Zoomers cat back exhaust
Electronic cutouts.

I picked up 13kw/18hp at the wheels with the Zoomers install and it sounds awesome.

Others have gone the cutouts and they too sound incredible.

I did cut the 2 resonator and weld 2 stainless pipe. The sound is ok and not too loud . I don't know for performance but I don't think I gaine any. But I save some weight. Those thing are heavy

Sweet as then, if that works for you.

I personally think that is a cheap and nasty way of doing it but give it a crack and let us know.

To be honest, I have the 11dB Blastin' Bob fat pipes (resonator elimator kit), and it doesn't sound that much better then stock. But it does sound a little better. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't. The resonators mainly eliminate drone I've found.

Here is the result sounds sick at wot nice deep sound , at idle sounds quit like with out the cutouts at 2000 to 2500 rpm a little huming sound in the cabin I guess this what you call drone not sure? but car screems when floored, I going to decide to just take the resonators out completly run strait pipe from the mufflers on or cover the cutouts bring it back to stock need to test more at WOT should be fun.

I replaced my resonators with straight pipe, and it's only slightly louder at low power, and a lot louder at WOT

I have a tiny bit of resonance at light applications of power at about 20mph (i.e., just a bit when moving around the neighborhood) and it's slightly louder in cruise, but not particularly loud at all. My parents who are retired and more of the Cadilliac generation didn't even comment on it at cruise.

For an idea of what it sounds like...

YouTube - Autocrossing the 300 SRT-8

Notice how it's pretty quiet in the modest applications of power, but then on the exist straight...it roars!
