SRT8 W/O Resonators (Pics & Vid)

This is the mod for those who want to hear the 6.1 without paying $600 or more. It woke this car up. Thanks Maddog for this thread. I got some pics for you guys. I will have some video of the sound later. I kept everything else stock and I painted the entire exhaust from the cats back with with Duplicolor DH1606. It is a 1200 degree Aluminum paint with ceramic mixed in it. It makes the piping look like a stainless steel cat-back. With the stock muffler this mod is perfect for me. The exhaust note is not loud when cruising around town, it is just deep and you can now hear the burble. Now when you get on the throttle it is another story. I can really hear this baby now. You can tell that the resonators were restrictive as well because from a dig even with ESP on the car will break lose and spin the tires, not just give you a couple of chirps and go. This is the mod for me. It cost me $299 for the piping and bending, welding and painting. The tips were $48 so $347 and it is just what I wanted. The pics are with my cell phone but I really like the way the paint looks on the pipes.

You did a nicer job than I did...mine...I had just just cut out the resonators, not bother going all the way back to the muffler. When you see it from underneath it's not as clean..but hey, most people don't get to see the back of the car for long in any case! (much less from underneath).

I love the resonator delete!

Thanks Steve. It reminds me of the a Mustang GT at times during acceleration. I have always like the sound of a Mustang GT

Awesome! I've been thinking about doing that for a while now, can you get us a couple in motion videos, also one where the car is warmed up at idle so the rpms have settled? Good work GEN XER

How is that possible? What could possibly be louder than a straight pipe?
