You have to look at the market for teh gears vs tooling cost and R&D time/money.

Also teh 4.10 3.73 gears for our cars are way out there, we have a very steep first gear, to get these pigs going. ON a 28 tall tire a 3.2x 3.3x would be about ideal w/ some tracking.

If you want straight up racing th 4.10 would be ok, but I sure wouldnt want to drive it on teh street.

These are not your old sk00l muscle cars.

Here is a post from LXF that I made a while ago :

Because a lot of people cant get it in thier head that these 5 speed trans are not like the old TH-350 and th-400.

TH-400 Gears - 2.48 1st gear, 1.48 2nd gear, 1.00 3rd gear.

TH-350 Gears - 2.52 1st gear, 1.52 2nd gear, 1.00 3rd gear

TH700r4 Gears - 3.06 1st gear, 1.62 2nd gear, 1.00 3rd gear, 0.70 4th Gear

W5A580 Gears - 3.58 1st gear, 2.19 2nd gear, 1.41 3rd gear, 1.00 4th gear, 0.83 5th gear

See the differnace ?

See the full thread trans and grear thread here
i'm very aware of what 4.10's feels like i have them on my other car and they are awsome for everyday driving not just racing. does someone make 4.10's that will fit in the rear of this car?

not

according to my sources (Big AMG Guys), there is no room in our rear end for a big ring gear. A small change may be possible, but if you look at the numbers, 10 to 1 total in first gear is awfully short already!

the 3.3 or 3.2 gear is what we have been pushing for. Richmond wont make them until the cars can use them, and diablo wont fix the gear issue until someone makes a gear.

So you figure out that one.

well obviously nobody will make a gear they cant sell. so why wont diablo get off their ass and do some simple math, and figure out the gearing issue?? they can use different sized wheels/tires to simulate different gearing. they just need to do a bit of math.

its hard to compare this to another vehicle. because it is very dependent on the gearing in the transmission. if the gearing between the 2 trannies is different. then the gears will react much differently in both cars.

someguy yes i understand now i changed my view as you can see throguhout the thread. but nonetheless the same issue arrises but my thread title should be shifted to 3.33 or similar. they need to come out and alot of people will benefit greatly from them. thats just the point i wanted to make orignally no matter the actually gear numbers.
