It might be more beneficial to have the MB 7 speed auto. 1st 4.38, 2nd 2.86, 3rd 1.92, 4th 1.37, 5th 1.00, 6th .82, 7th .73. Think this would be great, more grunt at the bottom, something in the dead zone (3rd from 70 mph) and an extra tall road gear. With the existing tires (245/45/20) and the 3.06 gears, at 6200 RPM's that would be in 1st: 38 mph, 2nd: 58.4 mph, 3rd: 87 mph, 4th: 122 mph, 5th: 167 mph, 6th: 203.7 mph, 7th: 229 mph!

I have to admit this ratio spread gives me goosebumps, but this trans is already experiencing problems related to torque capacity. Benz uses MASSIVE torque management strategies to protect this slushbox, and my sources tell me that it is nowhere near as strong as the NAG1 we use.

I feel certain the gear boys will make it happen, but we need to develop a strategy to make them aware of the market!

CMJ performance has gears out for about a month now (go to LX forums.com). They have an entire package that includes:
1. a one oiece drive shaft
2. a differential (either a Trac-Lok for the 1/4 mile track or a Trac-Diff for a road course which is not ready at this time from what I have learned)
3. Gears (a whole bunch-3.23's, 3.55, etc...)
4. 1200 hp axles with hubs
All guaranteed for life with no questions asked. That is why Diablo came out with the updates for the gears.

$6000 for gears and a beefed up rear.

I wonder how much the shop that did the SRT drift charger would charge to do that set up (viper rear, viper shafts and so on...)?

Give Brad at Route6 motorsports a call. He has the capability to do that swap.

His number is 804-916-0628, tell him Frank from Dyno Tuned Performance sent you his way and he can help you out.

Well - you want gears or not?

With the Diablo reduction in torque management, you really muust want a lot of push off the line for this to not be enough

gears arent worth it for 6 grand. I'll get it blown instead.
gears for other cars are 1/6th that price and less.

lol gears for $6000??? even exotic tuners like RENNTech don't charge that much, a set of gears should cost $250 or less, i understand its a package but even with a drive shaft, axles, etc $6000 is ridiculous.

I think all that is needed is the 1000hp axles for strength and you will have to live with the lack of gear choice for now. Then spend $6000 on a bulletproof 426!
