Question Hlp w/ questions Pls. How to get 50RWH on my SRT8?

I have a 2006 300SRT8. The only stuff I have done right now are the Corsa exhaust and CAI. I'm really thinking that I want to go ahead and tune my SRT.

What are my next mods?
What can I do to get my SRT8 to the 500HP mark?
Can it be done in stages? and if so what are the stages?

Thanks for the input

BTW- Anyone in the Toronto are know of a good quality proformance shop I can get work done on my SRT?

Hehe...you really don't have any performance mods at the moment, the exhaust and CAI (unless it's AFE stage 2, or airhammer, a knockoff AFE that costs more) are more "make my stuff sound mean" mods than anything else. The very first and very best thing is the diablo...that alone should get you a good jump, and it'll allow a pro to squeeze the most out of anything else you buy. After that, it really depends on your budget. With the Diablo, it's a lot safer to put a 'charger on...that's the simplest way, but probably the most expensive. You might try to piecemeal your way with tubes, intake, TB, and crank, the way I intend to, but you might not make 500, and you'll have to retune (to the tune of several $100) with the diablo after each step...you might try NOS...I dunno, more than one way to skin a cat, it depends on your budget, your risk tolerance, and your "flavor" (I'm anti-NOS, and lukewarm on forced air, except possibly as a way to "normalize" my car's breathing to sea level, as I live a mile and a half up). ~shrug~ I just like to be able to tell people they got by a naturally aspirated pushrod V8 in a 4200 pound sedan

/edit/ it occurs to me that we need a canadian flag smily for joking about Brampton and all...

Do you mean 500 rwhp or 50 more crank hp? The only way to get to the 500 rwhp mark without NOS, super charger or turbo is if you completely stroke/bore the motor, cam, port and polish and so on. A cam with ported polished heads will only get you a little above 450 rwhp. This is just from my reading what reputable shops like PPP and other venders here are saying. You'll always find unrealistic claims about people making that 500 rwhp on a cam alone or maybe spraying meth through the windshield wiper with accetone added...

Try spraying meth through the windshield wiper with accetone added.

You need the new Turbonium 0W-40 oil for your car. At only 30.00
a quart, it is superior to no other oil.

Guaranteed to lubricate you motor better than your old dirty oil, and it will
increase milage and power by improving oil flow better than no oil at all.

...you want 500hp at the wheels? Forced induction is the way to go. Start saving.

I think a spray of NOS is the cheapest, quickest and easiest way to get to the 500hp mark.

If you have the diablo tuner you would be way ahead.

Like everyone else says, you can go with the cam and heads and headers, port and polish too.

I don't want to use any NOS or spray. What I am looking to do is to get it up in stages. My mark to reach is 500RWH. Right now i'm thinking of changing my CAI and adding the Diablo. After that maybe headers or Port and polish..... iam not looking for a "fix" ...I wan to build it solid. Money is not really a issue, actually my biggest issue is finding a reputable shop is my area to do the work. I like the idea of the supercharger but what has to be done prior to putting that SC in???

well you can order a supercharger kit for roughly 7000 bukcs or get the RDP twin turbo kit for 7000 bucks. If you boost these motors I wouldnt go over 8psi and then you might want to port & polish the intake and go with a biggest valve head from Inertia along with a 90mm throttle body. Then beef up your pistons and rods to hold more boost and get 600 to 700 rwhp. Theres options out there, im plannin on nitrous because of the hemi head design and easibility to run 11s fairly cheap but effective manner. I plan to have the car run 11s with NOS on street 20s but it will take some time n tuning to get there.

I gained 40 rwhp with the diablo and a cai dialed into my car. That's your best start. Next in order of gains/cheapest dollar are probably hi flow cats, magnaflow cat back and then a cam. You could probably be close to 450 rwhp. Then go with a torque convertor. You'll have about $2000-$3000 (if you can do a cam yourself) in mods and be able to waste a vette.
