Ive been reading that a cam is probably gonna be the next best bang for my buck mod on my list. I currently have a predator, AFE, 180 tstat, and will have a set of high flows in a week or two. With my current mods, is a cam gonna be a good choice? Any suggestions on which one to go with? What would I be looking at for an install? I know that waiting till I get my heads and doing them both at once would definitely save me money but I cant get both right now unless I find a great deal. Also, will I need a cmr tune to utilize the cam? Any help is appreciated

A cam will help with the "umph". You're gonna find pretty much the same cast of characters in the cam discussion. PPP FRi,Inertia,HHP. I personally went with a HHP stage one(mild) that would allow me to keep my MDS. We have close to the same mods on our cars. A recent track day(my first 1/4 mile anyway) yeilded a 13.2 so that can give you an idea. No 2 cars will have the same results so keep that in mind.
In order to maximize the gains from the cam,I would highly recommend a CMR tune by a qualified tuner. My .02
an excellent power adder, which if chosen carefully, completely transforms a motor. You can go mild to wild, and each has its advantages/disadvantages.
SRT8 has a pretty stout grind for a stocker. High power peak at over 6 grand means its a bit 'flat' on the bottom.
Make sure you explore all the many flavors before you buy. And installation is critical. This is not a casual bolt on!
I'd talk to Eric at BFNY Performance.

Any help or advice on those advantages vs disadvantages for the different options?
Check with the people mentioned for their feedback (PPP, HHP, etc, etc). Explain what you want out of it. You can go very aggressive, pick up 1 or two more hp that way (over a milder cam), and have it be a bear for daily drivability. You can go a bit more mild, still get a hell of in increase in raw hp and feel, and not feel too much of a difference in your daily driver. Also ask them about intake and exhaust duration and how it fits your needs. For example, I went with a bit higher exhaust duration to assist with the burning off of nitrous, something you will probably not be concerned with. I also went with a 114 lope (which is fairly mild) as opposed to say a 112. Let there be no mistake, when she is idling, even with the 114, she can be heard and felt. For me a 112 would have been too much at the time.
Don't be afraid to have them help guide you...just be as clear as you can on what you want and expect. GL!!

Whats your budget? what do you want from your engine? how much power you want to gain?
I feel like ive been buying up everything but the kitchen sink lately so Im not looking to spend much more than a grand installed. I dont have a particular number that im looking to gain just that I want to be able pull alot harder and have some more low to mid power.
