cam and breaks

hi to all happy new year last summer i installed a cam from PPP the runs great
but i have notice that the breaks feels different my mechanic told me that the cam was sucking more air or the air in the breaks master cylinder or something like that i am not sure but it seems that if i pressed the pedal twice the feeling of the pedal goes back to normal i was told by doing so i am pumping air into the system i guess plz plz i need help

Heres a quick bump for ya. Im not 100% sure but I highly doubt that a cam would have anything to do with your brakes other than you using them more often because of driving at higher speeds. Im sure somone alittle more knowledgeable than me will chime in. Good luck.

yes and no

A cam could affect the brakes by lowering the vacuum. The brakes use vacuum to boost the pedal pressure.

But your last comment is a clue. If you simply pump them back up to normal with your foot then it's not vacuum.

These cars suffer from "pad knock back", where the pad is moved by the rotor under hard cornering. This is not repairable, but it can also indicate it is time for new pads.

And last, bleed those brakes. Could just be a bubble or two in there.
