A cam could affect the brakes by lowering the vacuum. The brakes use vacuum to boost the pedal pressure.
But your last comment is a clue. If you simply pump them back up to normal with your foot then it's not vacuum.
These cars suffer from "pad knock back", where the pad is moved by the rotor under hard cornering. This is not repairable, but it can also indicate it is time for new pads.
And last, bleed those brakes. Could just be a bubble or two in there.
