Valve Spring Bye Bye

Anyone ever broke a valve spring running the stock cam? I did. Sucked.

It's pretty rare if the engine is well cared for.

I've been bouncing mine off a 6600 rpm limiter for many years now, and I beat on it mercilessly.

How did you get away with just a spring?

When Car & Driver did their first road test on a 300 SRT8, the specifically mentioned that the car was sidelined by a broken valve spring. There was an early 6.1L engine bulletin out on this.

In 2006 my magnum srt8 with a 140 miles on it broke one valve spring i was told they were getting defective springs from the supplier... they had my car for over a month...They flew in the SRT engineers to look at it...When i finally got it back it was perfect...never had a problem with it...i always thought the car was freaky too...it ran 12.9 at 110 mph with a CAI and rear resonators removed that was it...this was before tuners too...lol...maybe they did something to my car when they had it...

Nah, my car ran a 12.89 at 111 mph when it only had 700 miles on it!

All you need is good conditions and a good launch.

Yeah yours is a 300 tho lighter then my old magnum srt8 mine weighed with me in it...4560 lbs...
