275 front 305 rear

Hey guys I need some help, I'm on my third set-up with staggered tires and this is the largest, I'm running a 275/40 vred up front and a 305/35 eagle f1 gs d3 out back on the stock rims (2007 csrt8 no mods) my prob is during a burnout it feels like traction control kicks in, I've never experienced this with the 255/45 falkens or the 275/40 vreds. Do I need a tuner for the the increased tire size? Any help will b greatly appreciated.

Since you have an SRT8, what factory setting to you use for ESP for doing your burnouts?

And - welcome to 3CF!

OK. When you hold it in for several seconds and you get the "Deactivated" evic display, the ESP and the Brake intervention is turned clompletey off.

Because the differential is open, that might explain why you feel you are not hooking up. With 305's on the back, the biggest concern is snapping half shafts.

Have you tried experimenting with tire pressures?

I've been experementing, I ran the 275/40 20 vreds at 35psi when they were on the back, they usually heat up and operate around 38psi. The 305/35 20 are at 40 psi cold and on the ride home from tire shop they heated up to 41ps. I'm going to run them at 35 psi today and see what happens.

Looks like ill have to order a Predator, I think my abs esp tcs is out of wack because if the tire changes, spent all day experementing with tire pressures and I still can't sustain a burnout, not that its important because the car handles the way I've always wanted it to. Thanks for the help Northern Rider.

The Predator is a must, and not just for different tire diameters. You get a lot of really cool features and the canned tunes are ready to go for a mostly stock vehicle. You'll love the increased shift firmness too.

Why you want all that traction & bulk with those tires & you have no mods?

I switched the tires out because I don't just drive this car in a straight line. Handling was just as important if not more so than straight line speed. I pushed the car past its limit (in handling) with the 245/255 set up.
