As soon as they get here, yes. I think they are supposed to ship this week.

Sorry to bother you as you are negotiating through multiple drifts, but I was wondering whether or not the Borbets with the TPM's are actually working and yielding a readable signal?

I just got back from my birthday dinner and I'm happy to report that the Blizzak DM-Z3 tires are fantastic in the snow and ice and the Borbet wheels from Tire Rack (w/pressure sensors) synched up without any problems. This wheel/tire combo works great!

Glad to hear they're working so well Dave. Happy Birthday, by the way, young man!

PS - Don't forget to do your open diff traction test before all the slippery stuff is gone.

Hey!!!! I just noticed something on bridgestone's site...

Anyone (Dr. Z, especially) know any reason why 245/50R20 Blizzak LM-25s wouldn't work for our cars? That would save HUGE $$$ spent on 18" rims, TPM sensors, etc....

Hmmm...the diameter is 1.1" more than factory...is that the issue?

The extra 1.1" would be one issue. The other is the liklihood of damaging the stock wheels when you hit a pothole with those squishy tires. I don't know about where you live, but here in NJ the potholes are terrible in the winter. I wouldn't think of venturing out with 20" wheels. Finally, have you compared the price of the 20" Blizzak to the 18" Blizzak? I wouldn't be surprised if the additional cost of the larger tires dramatically reduces any savings from avoiding the purchase of these wheels. Don't forget to add in the cost (twice per year) of going to the tire shop and having the tires swapped and rebalanced. Plus the risk, each time they do that, of marring your wheels. And finally, add in the inconvenience of having to wait in line for an appontment after the first predicted snowfall, when everyone else has the same idea. I love being able to wait until the last minute, and then simply spend 30 minutes swapping wheels. And if we get a long spell of warm weather, after he first snowfall, it's no big deal for me to swap back. I've done that a few winters.

winter tires

dave,
do you just put 2 on the rear, or 4 wheels/ tires all around? I have an srt8, and assume those wheels will clear the front brembos with no problem? I'm probably revealing my age, but I remember (back in the old days) we just put 2 "snow tires" on the rear.

You want them at all four corners. Otherwise, you would be able to get the car moving, but you would not be able to brake or steer.
