My buddy's E55 didn't come with a spare either. After the first flat tire he went out and bought a rim and tire and stuck it in the trunk with a jack and wrench. Apparently it is common now for high performance cars not to come with spares, which IMHO is stupid since a lot of these cars are coming with 18inch+ rims and low profile tires which tend to blow out more than larger profile tires from potholes and such.

I tried a RT AWD, since they have better offset

The rear had a ton of room btw the caliper and the wheel. I will grab the part numbers when I get a chance.

Thanks, RobertV!! I wonder why the offset is different between AWD and RWD R/T Magnums?? It seems that the diameter of the donut should be equal to the diameter of a 225/60/18 and is within 0.1" of the diameter of 245/45/20 tires, so it should be great for a compact spare on your SRT-8 or my CSRT-8. I believe the compact spare on the 300C 5.7 is the same as the Magnum R/T, and will be checking that out at my Chrysler dealer very soon! Part numbers for your setup would be much appreciated when you have time!!

Possible solution - BUT IT AINT CHEAP!!!

I've been doing some research on this NO SPARE situation. I found OEM wheels @ http://www.newmoparparts.com/. They run about $550 apiece, shipping included. You also have to buy the pressure sensor because it doesn't come with the rim. That's another $35.Then you add another $350 for the Eagle F1. The only other option is the run-flat tires. Goodyear has a 255/45/20 Eagle RS-A EMT for about $450 apiece. If you do the math, it's about $900 cheaper to buy the OEM wheel, tire and pressure sensor. The sensor has to be programmed to match the car's existing modules. That can be done by the dealer. The other problem is will the spare fit in the vehicles. My Mag is a tight fit with the Kicker. The OEM wheel part number is 5290665AB. The sensor is listed as Pressure Sensor in the wheel section of the parts listing. I hope this info helps....

I intend to get a set of 18"'s for snow tires and just thrown one in the trunk for a spare. I have a chrome X wrench and I will find a good jack. I am not too concerned about driving on a snow in the summer just to get off the e-way or on the f1 in the winter for a short run.

The trunk is HUGE anyways.

REV, did you ever come up with those part numbers? And how did you mount the compact spare, BTW?

no go with no spare

my first "mod" one week after I took delivery of my 300 srt8, was to order a wheel from lakeshore tire & wheel. ( I believe the wheel is "refurbished", but it looks new) ordered an rsa from the local goodyear. have a small hydraulic floor jack that fits in the storage space in the trunk, a 1/2" breaker bar and socket. yes, the tire/wheel takes up most of the trunk space, but the peace of mind is well worth it. my biggest fear was getting a flat, and having to get the car towed from somewhere I shouldn't have been in the first place, and theeeennn trying to 'splain it all to the ol'lady!!!!!! so, lets see, wheel $365, tire $210, jack about $10, not having to explain what I was doing THERE at that hour of the morning PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the delay :)

Here are the part numbers and tire info:
Rim: 4895 689AA $101
Bolt M8: 6508 110AA $??? IIRC runs from floor to cup below
Spare tire cup retention: 52059 160AC $???
Jack: 4895 015AA $57.50
Nut for jack: 6504 599 $??? I think this is for the cup too
Wrench, lug: 4782 999AB $26.75
Tire: GoodYear T145/80 D 18 Product # 818 02 22 53 Material Code # 191 206 $121.05
Any Goodyear dealer should be able to order the tire, the dealer did not want to get involved with the tire because it was not listed in his part catalog.
If you need it: Goodyear service 800-755-2772

This is excellent. The part numbers are all DCX except the tires? I missed the other thread-I presume this kit will allow for storage of the tire/wheel below decks after the styrofoam lining is removed?

How much for a spare?

Finally got a spare for Mag SRT!!! Found a used rim in good shape on E-Bay.

Rim and shipping - $192.00 + $54 = $246.00
Goodyear Eagle F1 mount & balance = $288.00
Total = $534.00

Feeling comfortable driving on the highway = PRICELESS!!!!

I was concerned about the spare fitting in the back and not hitting the Sub but it went in with a couple of inches to spare.

Now all I need is a jack that will fit under the car. I saw an electric scissors jack on the Harbor Freight tools website for $70. I think it will fit.
