No spare tire really sucks

My tire went flat in my driveway but I didnt realise it until I got on the street. The tire lost it's "seal" or "bead" or whatever it's called and seperated from the rim, causing me to turn the car around and drive up my driveway on the rim.

I'm looking at the wheel thinking it's toast, but it turns out to be allright (just not very pretty).

The pain in the a$$ was not having a spare. I had to have the car towed back to my dealership to have a new tire put on.

Is there a 20 inch donut available that will clear our brakes?

Wow, bummer. Almost makes it worth it to buy an extra wheel and use up some trunk space. But then you'd also have to carry a jack, lug wrench, wheel chock, etc.

Sorry about your flat tire as this has been my fear as well. So I’ve ordered another tire to keep in my garage in case of local emergencies and will put it in the trunk when away from home. Keep your AAA paid up.

A while back there was a set of 20'' SRT aftermarket wheels for sell with the tires. I offered to be one of four, to buy the set if anyone was interested. This would be great for long trips etc. Not one person responded. It was broken down to something like $300 per person.

If a set comes back up for sell....just an idea.

I did a test fit last time I was at the dealer. It will clear the rear with no problem, the fronts......forget it....not even with a spacer. My thought was to get the space saver rim, the jack, lug wrench and all the mounting hardware. If I get a flat in the rear, no worries, if I get one on the front, then I would just put the space saver on the rear and move the rear tire to the front.
The steel rim is around $100, so is the tire, the jack is $65 or so, and by the time you are all done.....around $300 to get the whole kit from the dealer.
This is the best solution I have come up with thus far.

Think EMS and Run flat technology, it's the foundation that should be in all our tires,,,yet i think they don't provide as cusy a ride as the same tire without the SSS integration.

Mr NX sorry about your deflation, hate to hear about situations, yet we all learn from them.

How's that NX running by the way?

Bummer Man. I bought a full set of extra wheels for winter driving and can use one as a spare - but put it where? The area where the spare should go could be modified by moving the battery to give enough width to take the 29" F1s, but the depth is way to short. the trunk bottom would have to be modified to allow the top of the tire to wedge upwards reducing the useable space considerably. One might as well lay the wheel in flat. At least lay it upside down to gain some grocery space - but it won't look pretty. Perhaps we need a - hmmmm continental kit for our rides. How 60ish. Or perhaps we could bolt it right on the trunk lid - Oops - Note!! Can no longer open trunk.

It appears that the SRT team forgot about the spare entirely as it looks like it could hold only an 18" wheel. Some re-engineering has to be done by the team. In the interim I guess we have to fill the trunk up with a spare tire, beer, air pump, more beer, jack, empties, detailing paraphenalia and oh yeah - BEER!!! (Not for drinking and driving, but for driving to your drinking! Stay overnight, and drive sober. Afterall, no one wants to hurt those lovely SRT-8's.)

Is that the R/T RWD or the R/T AWD Magnum space saver that fits? They are different...
