To clarify: there are still a half dozen sets of front C-Tek pads in stock. It's the rear pads that are now completely sold out. As an alternative, there are lots of Centric Posi-Quiet rear pads available. Unfortunately, that pad isn't made in the front shape yet. So, until new C-Tek rear pads become available again, in a couple of months, the only option for those who still want to eliminate the dust is to use C-Tek in front and Posi-Quiet in back.

Of course, we're only talking about a handful of pads left, so it's only an option for 6 people.

The Posi-Quiet and the C-Tek are both very similar in friction level and compound. Both are semi-metallic pads, both are low noise and low dust. The Posi-Quiet pads have built-in shims and are a few dollars more expensive than the C-Tek pads. They would have been my first choice to experiment with, had they been available for both ends of the car.

I've asked Centric to look into supplying slotted OEM replacement rotors. I hope to have an answer on that soon.

Got the C-Tek pads today. I just got home and they were waiting at the front door.

The Pad Spreader Tool should be here tomorrow.

I am going to try and do the install on Sunday. If not one night next week for sure. I want to have the new pads on and bedded in before the Sat. 5/20 M&G in Austin, TX. I will be able to put 150 miles on the car each way plus lots of driving in Austin as well.

Should be a good beta run to see how much less brake dust these produce.

One week of short trip driving and a couple of 10 mile jaunts for lunch and no visible brake dust yet. I'm concluding these things really work. What a relief!

I will be mad when I meet you after driving 10 miles and my wheels are dirty! By Austin, the wheels will be black!
I'll give you this round..... you are working on making the car slow down, and I'm working on making it speed up! Maybe mine will be able to outrun the brake dust?

I know the little recipe you've been cooking up over there on your Black Mag. I want a ride before we hit the road to Austin . Quite frankly I am a little nervous, not. I remember your screaming 94 SS. Also you taking off your serpentine belt and front sway bar to get the SS to launch like a SOB.
With my 22's, remember, don't get to far ahead of me Lord Vader, lol. Damn show wheels. Good for nothing but sitting still. I got 22's ,I always lose, lol. I sent you a PM over on LXF about Austin.

I know yours will be able to out run the brake dust now. LOL. How was your drive to the Carolina's and back,in the Cobalt, lol. Did you blow off the road or have to pull over for tornado's.

With me turning Freebird into more of a show car, the 22's don't help much either for land speed records, lol. Freebird has become more of a cream puff and your maggie more of A Nightmare on Elm Street, lol. I can't wait for a ride Bo.

I got my brake pads yesterday, installed them this morning, took an 80 mile trip and have no signs of brake dust. So far so good.

C-Tek brake pads Beta tester/reviewers.

(#1 of 6) DZeckhausen (Can't forget the man who made it possible for # 2-6)
(#2 of 6) FreebirdSRT
(#3 of 6) Vvv90
(#4 of 6) Rambit

(#5 of 6) nKelly
(#6 of 6) XCITsNU

Allright nKelly. That makes 2 C-Tek Beta testers (#1 and #5) checking in with positive results on the brake dust issue. Or lack of now, yes.

The brakes need to be put through some harder braking, different style roads or tracks. I will put the brakes through her paces with my lead filled size 12's.

I guess you can say I am a good candidate for the new less dustier C-Tek's.

Hey Rambit. That is good news. I figured you would get them last. Since the pads are coming out of CA. Plus they have to go through customs to get to you as well.

That is why nKelly got his first, he is in N. Cal.

I am in Texas, VVV90 should have gotten his pads today or tomm. He is in Illinois.

How's your search for trailers going?
