Sorry to ask the question again... but I need to get my rotors re-surfaced and pads replaced with my dealership right now. They want to charge me for re-surfacing my rotors. ResumeSpeed said the Chrysler engineers claim there is a 3yr warranty on the rotors. Is there any documented proof of this that I can show my dealership?

So is that it then? Chrysler isn't going to fix this issue for the 05 and 06 cars?
Refer to your dealer? The dealers around here are so far behind the knowledge curve I usually have to tell them the TSB numbers... I know there were a lot of folks waiting to see what Chrysler was going to do about the brake issue before they purchased. I guess they know now....

Hmmm... The squeaky wheel gets the grease. In this case. The dust covered wheel and gouged rotors cod get the grease.

Send your case to Motortrend. Automobile. Auto Week. Autoblog. Etc. Every major publication out there. Show them the problem - no pun here. They are the trades that rated this car so high. Show the honeymoon in paradise has some problems.

Perhaps its time to stop DCX from sweeping this dust under the rug....

Send the magazines links to the posts here... etc.... They will have a field day. Owners having to buy after market equipment for a clear manufacturing/design issue....

Ps I just washed the Wifes GTO and my 300C. Washed them both 2 weeks ago. The 300C's rear end was covered with brake dust. The rims were dark grey. The interiors of the rims were BLACK. The GTO's were clean as can be. I average <8k miles per year as does my wife. Her Aussie born chrome rims were clean. WTF!

thx,
vidkidd

I thought that I had read somewhere that the rotors couldn't be resurfaced, because they are composite or something like that. Fact or fiction?

I have an 05 300C and I just got it back from the dealership after a quick checkup and oil change... I also told them that when lifting the brake pedal after coming to a stop, they stick a little... They said that my rotors were "blue" from overheating... They said they wouldn't be able to resurface them due to the overheating... They quoted $76 a rotor and that I would also need new pads even though they are currently at 40%-50% left. I had just under 36,000 miles on it when I brought it there yesterday... What are my options?

Why don’t you try and get them to cover some of the TSB that’s out about the rotors. (see link below) Some dealerships are doing the TSB for owners even though they’ve got over 12k in mileage. If they baulk maybe they would cut you a deal. All you can do is ask. Good luck!

Don't think he'd qualify danno. He's got a 5.7 300C, AWD I believe. I think he should bed his brakes. What's there to lose?

You’re right Rambit….I didn’t even read his profile. Sorry about that…don’t mean to confuse anyone but the TSB was for the SRT8’s. I apologize. Thanks for setting me right Rambit!

I saw that this morning and was going to comment and something came up. Never got a chance to suggest the bedding till now. He doesn't have an AWD though BTW. I looked at his profile and thought I saw that. He's got "RWD".
