The Ultimate brake TSB photo thread

This seems to be coming up so often I figured as my car went through the process I'd take photos for everyone to see and maybe help with searches for info. in the future.

I went into my dealer last week with printed copies of the rotor/pad TSBs(mad props to Resume Speed!!!) and said that I thought my car was exhibiting the symptoms of these TSBs...they ordered the parts without any problems.

Here she is going into the service bay:

This is the front driver's side rotor, notice the scouring along the outside. This was by far the worst of any of the rotors.

Here she is on the lift.

Old brakes up close, front driver's side again first I think:

Old pads off:

up close:

New rotors, I think the fronts:

This is Pat, great mechanic and guy too. I think he's the head service guy there:

Blingtastic!!! Brakes are on!

Up next: Bedding these this weekend. I plan to get some posi-quiet or C-Teks from Dave Z. someday - hopefully sooner than later - but otherwise these will do for now

What an awesome thread to post Eric! This will be a great one to use for new members who are asking about the brake TSB or even those looking to purchase a new SRT8 and wanting to know of any issues. Thanks for taking the time to create it!

Dont waste time getting the Ctek or Posi's
My SRT brakes almost identical to the original pads and no more sickening dust.

Eric,
Although I don't have the SRT (much to Rambit's dismay), you have provided a nice gesture by posting the pics and step-by-step details regarding the TSB for the rotors as well as your new brakes. Thank you for taking the time to help others in the future.

Tsb

Thanks Eric!
Great pics-

I had my brakes done today too- Although I didn't take any pictures of it

I see you had 'em put on the Brembo pads; you'll have to let us know how they perform. I have heard they aren't as dirty as the originals.

I talked the dealer into installing the C-Tek pads I bought from Dave Z. They said they weren't installing new pads with the rotors... I think the TSB calls for it and I was going to ask them to give me the pads, but I didn't push it since they installed the C-Tek pads no charge, no hassle. I don't know what I would do with the Brembo pads anyway.
Pretty good service.
Huling Brothers Chrysler, West Seattle.

Thanks again for the pics!

I think to get the pads you have to say your brakes are squealing. Then they should replace them. Mine actually were squealing at times - we'll see how they do as far as the dust is concerned.

I got my rotors done today as well. Dealer installed my posi's no problem. This dealer is better than the last dealer about those kind of things.
