I can't drive my SRT in the snow here in CO. We have been blasted by the snow this year and my SRT has been towed three times. Just be careful, the car sits low and becomes a plow in deep snow. Add in a little high centering with my f1's and all that HP and I'm stuck! Good luck, I didn't know there was an all season for our cars, must be an 07 option...

Cheers!

I live in SW Ohio ,I also have the 18" Blizzaks. The all season RSA's will get harder in cold weather. I would get as second set of snows and keep you nices 20's for the warm weather. Blizzaks also good in heavy rain. Welcome!!

Getting around in the snow has alot more to do with the driver than a particular car. I drove my SRT8 with F1's on 1-3 inches of packed slush and snow when I was backin MN over the holidays...it was awful but I did get around. You could tell the tires were a major factor in the car having a hard time, with the RSA's I bet I would have had a much easier afternoon.

Eric

Yo ****iemo - I'm in Cincinnati!!! We'll have to get together!

So true. I see all kinds of cars and trucks in the ditches. Funny though, the people driving those vehicles all seem the same.

Thanks for all your input everybody. I am still waitng for my new baby to get in.
The dealer just keeps adding days to the arrival. You would think that in this day and age they would have a better way of tracking incoming vehicles.
Anticipation is KILLING ME!!

That option was available on the 06’s. I chose the F1’s as I wasn’t concerned with winter driving conditions. I can imagine that low front would act as a snow plow…especially in all that snow you guys have been getting. Plus towing (flat bedding) one of these presents its own opportunity for damage to occur. Good luck!

Believe me I feel your pain when it comes to waiting on one of these cars to come in. After 330 days you learn an awful lot about patience. I can tell you the wait was worth every second and if I had to do it all over again I would in a heartbeat. The car is so worth it! Of course hanging around in this place kept the dark clouds of insanity from taking over. You’ll make it. Good luck!

I posted this last winter. The subject was -

SRT-8 + snow/ice = I want my mommy!!!

My favorite local weatherman is usually right when he predicts storms so I took his word that it wasn't going to start snowing until 3-4PM today. I had an appointment at 12:30 so I figured I'd take my SRT-8 into work and then after the appointment swing by my house so put that away and pick up the truck before it started snowing. Well, I went to leave at 12:10 and found that it was snowing pretty good. Hum... seems like he was wrong this time. The shop is kind of in the middle of nowhere so I had about 10 miles of untreated back country roads to drive on before I got to any of the main roads. I turned off the ESP and hung the back of the car out while leaving the driveway. Yeah, that was fun! Cruised sideways for about 1/8 of a mile up the road. There was nobody around so that was fun too! It was time to do some normal driving. At that point I found that it couldn't be done.

The turned the ESP back on and found that the road was extremely slippery. Power was reduced to almost nothing to try to keep the tires from spinning. So besides working the throttle, I also keep turning the ESP on and off to get some power to move the car. Either way, any throttle input would break the tires lose and bring the back of the car out. It did this over and over and over. Actually took me about 3/4 of a mile to get enough momentum to reach 25-30 MPH. The ESP did a good job of keep the car straight when needed but the roads were just to slippery to be driving this car. Everytime the back drifted out towards a pole I kept thinking "limited production car, it might take awhile to replace". I did what I had to, made it home later and life was much better after I got behind the wheel of my 4WD Sierra.

For you guys and girls that use these year round, be VERY careful out there! We want to keep you and the cars around for awhile.

>>

It probably wouldn't have been this bad if we didn't have a little ice along with the snow. That gave me a whole new appreciation for 4WD trucks!

My poor ride was subjected to some nasty stuff this week... she did admirably but I wouldn't want it to get much worse. Inclines are ROUGH in slippery weather with this car but tracking/driving isn't too horrible considering the power/tire combo.
