Good alignment place in/near Houston?

Any of the Houston area guys know of a good place to get my SRT8 aligned?

I need to get this done before we all go to Fort Worth for the SRT Track Experience. I can not handle the 80mph shake any longer and my front tires are worn down enough, as they are.

I am looking for a competent place that will take care of my car.

Has anyone had any luck with the dealer doing a re-alignment?

(I am on the NE side of town...Kingwood)

Thanks!!

My dealer did mine without any trouble. However, you want to make sure they’ve got state of the art equipment and are fully knowledgeable on the specs for the SRT8. As I understand it the SRT8’s have a very sensitive alignment.

I can tell you, do NOT drive to Victoria, TX and have Killebrew do the work.

I took mine to Allen Samuels Dodge on the Katy Fwy because they are convenient to me, and they did a good job(I think). I had it at a Gooodyear Tire and they adjusted toe-in but said they were unable to get the caster to spec. I think unless you know someone who is very knowledgable and you can trust you should probably take it to you preferred dealer. I was having the 80mph shake, and my front tires were badly cupped on the outer edge. I wanted to replace the rears(which were slick), align it and rebalance the fronts and continue to run them because they still had good tread depth. Could not get rid of the 80mph shake, so I went ahead and replaced the fronts with F1 255's so I can rotate. Remains to be seen if the alignment will prevent the cupping on the fronts, but the new tires eliminated the shake. With the number of people who are reporting this problem this may be something that will occur to some extent no matter what the alignment. The ability to rotate will allow us to prolong the tire life and delay onset of "the shake". If anyone finds a definitive solution I would love to know about it.

Did you have them balanced and if so, what equipment did they use?

Thanks!

They were computer spin balanced at the Goodyear. Same machine used to balance the old fronts(which still exhibited the shake after balancing, which I now attribute to the cupping) and the new 255's. The new ones are still smooth after 2000 miles. I plan to rotate and re-balance at 3000 miles.

These cars have no caster adjustment. There is an add on piece that Chrysler has the dealerships put on the whiner's cars. It goes on the end of the tie rod (I think) and is essentially a double ended female end with opposing threads, meaning you could turn the union and move the bottom of the wheel in and out. A change that cannot be made on the factory setup. Having gone through most of my second set of front tires (with only 21k miles), this is the setup I am going to recommend for my car, to the service manager.
