Let me rephrase for you

If you run F1s in real winter weather like we get here in Canada you will:

1) get stuck and need a tow
2) go off the road and need a tow

I am not kidding when I say the pirelli ice and snow are the best snow tires I have ever used. You can buy 255's all around for your stock wheels and put the F1's on for the other three seasons

Update! LOL I'm sitting just outside Baltimore and no my car isn't moving anywhere! Ice storm came through last night, I looked out the window and laughed.

The SRT isn't going anywhere today and neither am I...

I have driven with the F1's in about 2-3 inches of snow on two separate occasions, some packed and some not. Hills will halt your progress - no doubt, a gentle slope is doable at a very slow speed with the traction control on. It's not easy but I grew up in Minnesota so I have lots of winter driving experience, and that is the key to getting around in the snow...practice.

I also have a 4Runner so when I'm not caught by surprise I just take that. I'm going to leave the F1's on until they wear out - or next fall rolls around. Then I'm going to get the best all-season rubber I can find.

My SRT8 hasn't seen rain - ice or snow yet - in the garage and only out on nice days but I checked back on my records and I remember driving around in my 1970 Chrysler NEWPORT with chains in Philly with da boys while a senior in highschool - Germantown - it snowed 28 inches - I think it was 1975 - the only way we could make it down some streets was in reverse - front wheel drive at the time - it was a blast - had the center console Clarion cassete player and all!! - that Newport had a 440 too.............

ive driven in 12" plus here in buffalo. this morning was 6". I have RSA's.

Driven to detroit in mid january the past 2 years in it for the auto show. full freeway speeds..

it is not ideal but this car does it. ground clearence is clearly the limiting factor.

snow tires would 100% improve the ability, but im not a fan of any of the offerings currently.

my suggestions:
if you are keeping your car pristine and or do not want to get it salty - leave it off the road

if concrened about can you make it there easily with no chance of getting stuck/or in a ditch - its your call. No one can give you the answer you want, this car is not designed for heavy snow/ice

if your only concerned about can you make it there - what are you waiting for!

With all due respect, the difference between the RSA's and the F-1's is as big a difference as four wheel drive compared to rear wheel drive.
